Join us Friday, October 16, for Powerhouse of Sound, featuring more than 125 talented students from William Paterson University’s Department of Music.

🎶 Concert: 7:00–8:00 p.m.
Enjoy jazz, classical and popular music performed by WP’s outstanding student ensembles. Tickets are $28 per person.

🎤 Jam Session: 8:30–10:00 p.m.
Bring your instrument, your voice or simply your Pioneer spirit! The jam session is free and open to alumni, students and faculty.

Congratulations to Dr. Nick Hirshon and the talented editors and reporters of The Beacon! 🗞️🧡

Dr. Nick Hirshon (Communication) arranged a tour of The New York Times on Aug. 14 for nine editors and reporters from The Beacon. Duy Nguyen, an engineer on the Times' AI initiatives team, led the group through the newsroom, including the steps where Times editors announce the paper's Pulitzer Prize winners each year and the Times museum on the top floor. Nguyen also came to campus in April to run a workshop for Dr. Hirshon's Advanced Reporting students on using AI tools to sharpen their campus beat reporting.
