I noticed a lot of new art schools and programs popping up in the area.
As an art instructor and owner of a school for over 25 years, I'm happy to see that there are opportunities to nurture your child's creativity and imagination.

I ask one thing of you... Demand quality art instruction from them!
Don't let their services be just a cash grab, just an opportunity for them to make money offering your child workshops in painting popsicle sticks or the newest squishy, fuzzy thing out there. Demand that they offer valuable art instruction, or effective methods in painting and drawing, skills that will serve them well, not just mindlessly entertain them.
God knows they get that from the internet, social media and YouTube.

If you're considering art instruction that doesn't offer you that value, then consider us.
Twenty-five years teaching children and adults drawing, painting, and cartooning is born out of passion for art, not an opportunity to make a buck!

Combs Hill, June 28, 1778 16" x 20" oil on linen by Michael MalzoneTwo hundred forty-eight years ago today, the newly formed Continental Army faced the British on the fields of Monmouth Courthouse, New Jersey. On one of the hottest days ever recorded in the state, the battle raged from early morning until late afternoon. By the end, both sides together suffered nearly 1,000 casualties - many from heat exhaustion.I painted this scene from photographs I took at a reenactment a few years ago. This small act of remembrance—paint on canvas—is offered with deep reverence and gratitude for every American soldier, men and women of every generation, who sacrificed so much so that generations like mine could grow up free, nearly two and a half centuries later.

This is a hands-on, live model, classical portrait drawing workshop covering the fundamentals that serious portrait artists return to again and again:

We had a great day at our Seascape painting demo!
Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, we had the privilege of experiencing a wonderful performance by Laura Wootton via Zoom!
As if my ego isn't giant already, imagine the fun of a lovely young woman, with the voice of an angel serenading you while you paint!

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up. Honestly, afternoons like these, full of art, music, and the best company, make painting even sweeter.

And yes, Lola was once again showered with more affection than any dog deserves, especially since she was even gassier than usual. (We’re still blaming the treats.)
