We love when we get to see our alumni! Jack Kelly, SKS Class of 2019, is studying Agribusiness Management at Penn State University! He was able to catch up and reminisce with one of his favorites, Mr. Gavin!

Many of our rising 8th graders wrote and delivered speeches today to run for Student Council! Our 3rd through 7th graders listened and then voted in the Student Council election to determine who will represent them for the 2026-2027 school year! Excellent job to all our candidates! 👏

SKS Alumni Spotlight 📣 - Michael Schuller, SKS Class of ‘22, attended his senior prom at Citizens Bank Park and just graduated from Archbishop Carroll! He will attend West Chester University for the 2 year Ram Initiative Program. He is excited to learn more about working in a physical fitness/sports environment, a school, or even in a restaurant. He thrived at Carroll being included alongside his classmates with the support of a peer mentor to help with note taking, reviewing , and completing homework. Michael decided he was going to join the wrestling team his freshman year and he absolutely loved it and his team loved him. To see Michael use the moves his teammates taught him, was a highlight for all. Thankfully, Carroll followed the lead of SKS to the benefit of all. Being comfortable with someone who is "just built different" as Michael proudly proclaims, requires time together in a safe environment to get familiar and comfortable especially with a speech dysfluency. This is such a beautiful opportunity that Bud Tosti, Msgr Brouwers, all of the SKS teachers, families, and especially his classmates created for everyone. Michael has thrived in Catholic schools and is the most proud of how God made him! As Michael stated at his end of year peer mentor presentation, " When people create an environment of belonging by allowing me to be included and respected, there is no down side to Down syndrome. Besides wrestling at Carroll, Michael was involved in Student Council, Respect Life Club, and was a peer mentor for a student in the Fit for Life class. I can't thank SKS enough for the gift you have given Michael and his classmates, but also to all of the future families who are following in the footsteps that you made a reality in the Archdiocese of Catholic schools. There is now the Rising Together Alliance to help families have their student with an intellectual/developmental disability included in AOP schools and to empower schools to say yes. So grateful to God and his beautiful plan and to all of you who responded with a "yes" to choosing love over fear. God bless you all!
