Woodlynde School is one of the oldest and most successful Philadelphia-area, Main Line-based college prep schools for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 with language- or math-based learning differences, ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, and Executive Function Disorder. Located in Wayne/Strafford, Woodlynde School prides itself on helping students achieve lifelong success by preparing them for college and ultimately a satisfying career. New this year in Lower Division: in-school clubs!

This year, every Lower Division student will participate in an in-school club each quarter, creating opportunities to build friendships across grades, try something new, strengthen existing interests, and grow new skills. Clubs are specifically designed to support fine- and gross-motor skills, social-emotional development, executive functioning, communication, and more.

Take a look at today’s Sensory Club, where students made slime alongside our occupational therapist, who helped incorporate fine-motor skill building into the fun!

Last year, a group of students were inspired by Homegrown National Park to take some blacktop space in our Outdoor Classroom and create a native container garden using old and unused planters and pots. With help from Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens, we planted milkweed, aster, mountain mint, goldenrod, and more.

This summer, the plants started showing off, and soon enough, skippers, bees, and monarchs were regularly visiting us. It’s been amazing to see our garden come to life!
