The WSC Film Workshop has grown to a record 40+ students! These filmmakers will be producing 5 new films for spring of 2027.

The first poster of the year has gone up in the Hot Attic. “After Twenty Years" by Preston Stuckwisch will screen at the WSC Film Premieres on September 29th. His poster replaces “The Golden Order” by Trevor Jeffery.

Great news for KWSC-FM/TV/Hot Attic Films!

Wayne State College received FOUR nominations for the NSMC Student Media Awards. Winners will be announced at the College Broadcasters Inc. convention in Philadelphia, PA, October 14-17, 2026. Finalists from Wayne State Include:

Best Promo: "Cryptid of the Week" Jordan LeFave
Best Feature News: "E-15 in Nebraska" Kaitlin Meiergerd
Best Long Film Fiction: "Vergete Moderland" Anja Oelofse
Best Video PSA: "Silence Your Phones" Caleb Huet, Kaydence Cihacek, Madison Dvorak, Mackinzie Arnholt

Our student productions go up against some of the best programs in the country including UNL, Penn State, and Syracuse University. I am amazed to see the students grow and meet their contemporaries at these larger institutions. Plus, from time to time, they beat them out for top honors!
