Hello,
we regret to inform you that we will not begin the Band Workshop this week due to illness. We will begin next week, May 6. Class will still run 3 weeks as planned.

Don't forget to register for our spring mini class! Only $15 and will be credited to your fall tuition. No playing experience required!

Announcing Spring 2022 woodwinds/brass class! HEMA has partnered with Palaestra, Inc. Homeschool, to offer a NEW wind ensemble class with our own Mr. Dennis Carter! All homeschool students in grades 4 and above welcome! No playing experience necessary-just a desire to learn! Class fee will be credited to the fall 2022 registration fee! Class starts in three weeks on April 29th!

We are so sad to report that due to the low enrollment and current surge of COVID cases in the area, we made the difficult decision to cancel the class. We really hope to offer a similar class late summer/early fall. Please keep an eye on the HEMA Band page and website (www.HEMABand.com) for future updates and we hope to see you then!

2021 SPECIAL SPRING MINI-SEASON planned **if enrollment allows!**
This $85 session would run for 6 weeks from Friday, April 16th through Friday, May 21st outdoors (weather permitting - if not, socially distanced indoors) at CrossPointe Church. Alpha Band (inexperienced, 4th grade and up) meets from 12:30 - 1:30PM; Concert Band (minimum 1 year experience or conductor approval) meets from 1:45 - 2:45PM. An outdoor concert is planned for Monday, May 24th at 6:30PM. Message us or contact [email protected] to get enrollment information!

Though we can't meet yet, we want the music to continue! Wayne/Westland schools are (online) auctioning off several instruments on Tuesday, Dec. 8th. Trumpets, flutes, clarinets, french horns, saxophones, and trombones all have a place in HEMA Band if you are looking to purchase a first time instrument. (And we can help connect you with Zoom private lessons!)

HEMA Band is unable to safely return to in-person gathering this fall. Hopefully we will be back to making music together next semester. Please message us if you are interested in adding a professionally conducted band to your homeschooler's activities, and we will keep you posted on the upcoming schedule!

It will look different, but HEMA Band plans to return Friday, September 11, 2020! Mark your calendar, practice those instruments, and stay tuned (pun intended!) for updates!

Happy Easter! We look forward to returning to regularly scheduled HEMA Band rehearsals this fall on the first Friday after Labor Day!

Due to the recent cancellation of all public music activities across the world, one of HEMA's amazing conductors, Mr. Dennis Carter, will be teaching Skype Lessons via internet.

This is a great way to keep students motivated and practicing their instruments, and it's a great time to learn a new skill!
