The 2026 Wayland-Cohocton Fall Athletic Season is underway, and with increased traffic on our campuses, we want to remind all visitors to help us keep our school grounds safe.

Please observe all posted speed limits and stop signs while traveling on campus. On the Wayland campus, there are four stop signs located within the bus loop running parallel to Route 63. We ask that all visitors, school employees, and driving students come to a complete stop at each sign.

As our Capital Improvement Project continues, traffic patterns and access routes may change. Please follow all posted directions and temporary traffic controls, and use extra caution when traveling through work areas.
We also ask that everyone respect all taped-off or restricted areas, even when crews are not actively working. These areas may be restricted for safety reasons.

With everyone’s attention and cooperation, we can help make our campuses safer for students, staff, visitors, and the entire school community. Thank you for doing your part to keep our campuses safe.

One week from today, the Wayland-Cohocton Cross Country team will host its second annual 24-hour relay benefiting the Steuben County Su***de Coalition. If you are interested in sponsoring an athlete, you can get in touch with any fall-sport athlete. If you'd like to donate time and/or money, you can either come down to the track next Friday or contact Coach Michelle Curtin at [email protected]. Thanks to your support last year, Cross Country raised about $3200 for Arbor House, and they would love to beat that total this year.

Wayland-Cohocton is excited to announce that our Back to School Night Fair, to celebrate the opening of school, is Wednesday, September 2nd on the Wayland campus front lawn from 4:30 to 7:00 pm in tandem with Open Houses. There will be information tables including after school programs, athletics, community partners and food available for purchase. There will be a bounce house sponsored by WCTA and outdoor yard games. Please see the attached flier for more information.

Please note that the Fair times extend beyond open house times so that families will have ample opportunity to attend the fair and take part in the open house events. The buildings will not be open for Open House until the designated times. See below:

Wayland-Cohocton Elementary School:
Back to School Fair: 4:30 to 7:00 pm
Open House: 4:30 to 6:30 pm
