📸 Pieces of Our Past: The People Behind the Work
Every successful school is built on the efforts of countless people working together toward a common goal.
This collection highlights many of the individuals and groups who helped shape public education in our community through the years. Teachers, support staff, administrators, school board members, parents, community partners, and students all played important roles in creating opportunities for learning and growth.
From classrooms and cafeterias to board meetings, professional learning sessions, performances, athletic events, and special celebrations, these photographs offer a glimpse into the daily work that helped build the schools we know today.
As we continue exploring the archives of both the former Waycross City Schools and Ware County Schools, we invite you to help us identify the people, places, programs, and events featured in these images.
Do you recognize someone? Can you identify a school, organization, or approximate year? Do you have a story connected to one of these moments?

Pieces of Our Past: The Faces Behind the Memories
Last week, our community helped identify several people, places, and moments from Ware County Schools history. Today, we're opening another collection from the archives.
This set of photographs highlights the people who brought our schools to life—students learning in classrooms, teachers guiding and encouraging, staff members serving behind the scenes, performers taking the stage, and community members celebrating achievements along the way.
Some of these faces may be familiar. Others may spark memories of classmates, coworkers, neighbors, or teachers who made a lasting impact.
Do you recognize anyone? Can you identify a school, event, program, or approximate year? We'd love to hear your memories and stories in the comments.
Every name, detail, and shared memory helps preserve the history of public education in our community.
