Today, Zoie took the controls and flew her family around town! She's got a sudden interest in flying an airplane, so we did a discovery flight and she definitely enjoyed it.

Did you know your child can do a discovery flight at any age?! Reach out and we can talk about what questions you might have and what steps you can take to help your teen get started with a career in aviation.

OK, I'm a few days late, but we've got to do this 500 follower giveaway!

Drum roll, please. And the winner is Rocky Barnard! Facebook says that Rocky doesn't have messenger enabled, so if someone could please tell him to reach out so we can coordinate that discovery flight. :)

If we don't have any luck in a few days, we'll re-spin and draw a new name.

Thanks to VA Ready, Justin did a discovery flight today with Runway One Nine!

Are you a vet that would like an opportunity to fly a plane? Reach out to VA Ready so they can get you set up for a *FREE* discovery flight!

On Wednesday, we'll be giving away a FREE discovery flight for one of ou followers. Know someone that would want to take a discovery flight? Tag them and make sure they follow us so they can be in the drawing!

Well you don't see that every day! While playing in the pattern in Valdosta today, a P-3 Orion was also having some fun doing touch and goes.

What do you get when you combine high winds and a slow (but fun) airplane?

A J3 Cub that thinks it's a helicopter! While working with a student this week to get his tailwheel endorsement, we had some fun trying to be a hovercraft. Learning to fly can be *really* fun!

Want to learn to fly - fast or slow? Reach out and let's get started.

And we've got another post that's been a long time coming... Neal got to solo today! He had a bunch of family come out to cheer him on and celebrate this huge accomplishment.

Next up? A little more training, a lot more solo, and then checkride! Woohoo!

Looking for your tailwheel training/endorsement or need to build tailwheel hours for a job or insurance? Yeah, we can do that! This is some of the funnest flying you can do - riding around with the door open at a whopping 65 miles per hour! :)

This post has been a long time coming! After a long day yesterday with a few weather delays, Allen earned his private pilot certificate! I'm really excited to have seen this one through and look forward to working on his instrument rating next.

Happy National Aviation Day! ✈️

It’s easy to take flight for granted. We climb into an airplane, start an engine, leave the ground, and somehow think that’s just a normal day.

But aviation is pretty incredible.

It’s the freedom to explore, the challenge of learning something new, the people you meet along the way, and the feeling of watching someone experience their first flight—or first solo—for the first time.

We’re proud to be a small part of that at Runway One Nine Aviation. Here’s to the pilots, instructors, mechanics, airport communities, and dreamers who keep aviation moving forward.

Keep looking up. 🛩️
