Waycross High School - Georgia Class of 78

Our classmate Rita Dyal Herrin passed away today. Her final arrangements are being handled by Music Funeral Waycross. She was such a sweet lady. She attend Crawford Elementary, Center Jr and Waycross High. Please remember her family in your prayers.

We have had two of our fellow classmates pass this month Lorri and Steve. I have put their senior pictures here because we all probably remember them this way.

Wow time sure does fly.
Last year at this time I was Facebook stalking as many “friends” pages as I could to find classmates to inform about the class reunion. Well I am still at it. 😆. I would like to fiend at least 50 more of our classmates. Please if you have any information or run into any classmates get their information so we can invite them to the 50th reunion. Even if a classmate has passed away we would like to recognize them at the next reunion. Some i haven’t listed since the last reunion because i have indeed caught up with them and established a line of communication. Stay healthy classmates and let us all get together in 2028 for the 50th.

I know it is a ways away still BUT if you are like me my calendar is often filling up a year out. So having said that.
PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING THE 50th class reunion the weekend of JUNE 3, 2028 .
Will look forward to seeing everyone. Much more information to be given closer to the time after we book a spot.

There will be luncheon (Dutch Treat you order from the menu) join us between 11:30-1 pm for the members of the class of 78 at Captain Joe’s Saturday October 19th come and join us if you can. Spouses are welcome to come. Remember this is a shelf pay luncheon.

Got a chance to meet up with Katherine Ashley(Katherine Boyle) today on our way through Chattanooga. Even if it is just for 10 minutes so good to see our classmate.

Classmates we are getting closer by the day to our reunion and there are so many classmates that we haven’t reached. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE reach out to any and everyone that you know was a part or the class of 1978. They can message me, send a note through the PO BOX to Pennie. We would love to have as many people as possible to reminisce, laugh and have fun with there.

Greetings fellow classmates. The reunion committee met today and finalized some details that you have been waiting on.

June 7th from 6-8
we will have a meet and great at Jerry J’s (Dutch treat) restaurant on Plant Ave. There we will give you your reunion t-shirt,welcome bag and schedule.
June 8th
(9 am Tentative tour of high school)
11a.m. -1p.m. Cookout at Laura S. Walker State Park
6pm to 9pm -Dinner/Dance/Silent auction Trembling Earth Complex
June 9th (possible breakfast still to be schedule Dutch treat) and attend church service
of and if your choice.

Cost for the weekend is $65 per person (we truly tried to keep it as low as possible).

Dress attire is casual for everything except the dinner/dance. We ask that you either dress in semi-formal attire or in the style of the 70’s (again though we ask that you keep it classy but fun).
We thought the t-shirts would be great for the cookout Saturday.

Lodging for the reunion is recommended at either the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express but there are other hotels in the area or if you are an RV’er checkout Laura S Walker campground or one of the others in the area.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU AND WILL NEED YOUR RESERVATION BY MAY 8th IN ORDER TO SECURE THE FOOD AND SHIRTS.
