At today's called board meeting, a revised 2020-2021 calendar, reflecting an early release to and later return from Christmas Break, was officially approved. The new calendar is attached and also available at www.ware.k12.ga.us.

Second semester classes will begin as anticipated on Monday, January 11th. We look forward to seeing our traditional students in class and our virtual students online at that time.

IMPORTANT CALENDAR UPDATE:
Over the course of the break, school system officials have remained in contact with local health officials and monitored COVID case counts. Out of an abundance of caution, Ware County Schools will delay reopening for students until Monday, January 11, 2021. System employees only will report to work onsite the week of January 4 – 8.

All athletic events and practices, extra-curricular activities, or school-sponsored student activities scheduled for January 4-10 have been cancelled. We look forward to seeing our students on Monday, January 11 and wish for everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Late congratulations are in order for our QB and 🐐, Thomas Castellanos, for being named to the GPB All-Stars! The GPB All-Stars recognizes the top talents across every classification in GHSA. Way to go Thomas!

Calendar Change Announcement: Ware County Schools to Close Due to Rise in COVID-19 Cases

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases among staff members, bus drivers, and students, Tuesday, December the 15th will be the last instructional day of the first semester for all pre-k, elementary, and middle school students. High school students who must take finals will report to school on Wednesday, December 16th for a half-day. Bus transportation to and from the high school will be provided, and students will be dismissed at 1:00pm.

End of Pathway Assessments scheduled for Wednesday the 16th will be postponed until the second semester. High school students who must take an End of Pathway Assessment but do not have to take a final exam do not need to report to school on Wednesday.

All athletic events scheduled for December 16th - 18th have been canceled and may be rescheduled at a later date.

All Ware County Schools staff members will report to work on December 16th to perform a deep cleaning before closing schools for the holidays.
