🌸 Laurelwood’s Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser 🌸

Join us on Wednesday, April 29 from 2:00–3:30 PM for a special afternoon at Laurelwood!

We’re excited to invite families from Waxhaw and the surrounding communities to come shop our children’s handmade creations, a variety of beautiful plants, and much more—all made with love and care. 🌱

📍 The event will take place right on our playground, creating a fun and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

We had a special visitor from Pediatric Dentistry of Waxhaw! Ms. Riley came to our school with Allie the Alligator to teach us all about taking care of our teeth.
She reminded us that it’s important to brush our teeth twice a day for 2 minutes and to visit the dentist twice a year to keep our teeth healthy and free of “sugar bugs.” The best part? The children even got to practice brushing Allie the Alligator’s teeth, making learning about dental care fun and hands-on!

On February 6, we finally got to celebrate our Annual Light Festival — and it was well worth the snowy delay! This year’s camping theme created such a cozy and magical atmosphere throughout the school. Each classroom was glowing with the children’s creations and different forms of light, beautifully showcasing their hard work and creativity. Families went on a bear hunt, found a bear cave, spotted a glowing waterfall, enjoyed star gazing, tried their luck fishing, went camping in tents and campers, and even went on a hike through the forest. To end the evening, everyone warmed up with s’mores, sweet treats, and cups of hot chocolate on a chilly night. It was a special evening filled with light, laughter, and community.

🔥 A huge thank you to the Waxhaw Fire Department for visiting our school today! The children were so excited to see the fire truck up close, learn about the firefighters’ important jobs, and explore all the cool tools and gear they use. The fire hats were such a special treat — our little firefighters couldn’t stop smiling! 🚒❤️ We’re so grateful for your time, kindness, and for keeping our community safe every day!
