“My youngest is only 12 and a half but loves kids and really wants to teach and babysit someday. Ashley ran a course for her, her older brother and our homeschool friends covering cpr, first aid and babysitting skills that are useful and memorable. She made folders with handouts that can be copied and used to get them started, taught them how to interview parents about their kids, and then of course the CPR essentials which everyone passed with flying colors. Did I mention they had a great time?”

Ms. Ashley was an amazing teacher - very knowledgable and kind and made sure I knew everything I needed to learn and was patient at answering my questions and giving advice. Highly recommend!

We brought this beloved story to life with a little bit of everything!💚

Our sprouts practiced letter recognition, name-building, fine motor skills, sensory exploration, social-emotional skills, counting, sorting, and gross motor activities—all through hands-on play! 🌱

Side note: 🥰my sweet sprout came out of her room “dressed as a palm tree” because “wouldn’t that be neat for the little ones?” Ask Erin Goldman, M.Ed. | Reading Specialist, she’s quite an amazing helper 🤟🏻

🚒❤️ **A HUGE thank you to the Waxhaw Fire Department!** ❤️🚒

Our Community Helpers Camp got an extra-special visit from some incredible local heroes, and we are SO grateful for the time they spent with our sprouts! 🌱

They didn’t just stop by—they truly **invested in our kids.** They created such a fun, engaging learning environment and took the time to make every child feel seen, included, and excited to learn. 🥹

Our sprouts got to:
🔥 Learn important fire-safety basics
🧑‍🚒 Learn about the different types of firefighters and what they do
🪖 Explore their protective gear and learn why each piece is important
🚒 Get an up-close look at the fire truck and all the **gadgets, tools, hoses, and gizmos** that help firefighters do their jobs
🧯 Learn how firefighters respond to emergencies and keep our community safe
👨‍🚒 Watch them suit up in their gear—which was definitely a camp highlight!
💬 Ask questions, share stories, and learn what it’s really like to be a firefighter

What meant the most to us was how **patient, encouraging, and intentional** they were with our children. They welcomed every question, encouraged their curiosity, and made safety education feel exciting and approachable.

These are the experiences our sprouts will remember long after camp is over—and the kind of community connections we are so proud to create at Spirited Sprout. 🌱❤️

**Thank you, Waxhaw Fire Department, for showing our sprouts what it means to serve, protect, educate, and care for your community.** We are incredibly grateful for the work you do every day and for the extra-special time you gave our campers! 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
