Lily S is our GRITTY kid of the week. This little girl is always looking to help her teacher anytime she can. She is so very thoughtful and kind. Anytime she is faced with a challenge, she is determined to figure it out. She works very hard and is always trying to please her teachers. Lily is a very honest and loyal person and  her teacher can always depend on her to tell the truth. Whenever someone is sad, you can always count on Lily to cheer them up. Her teacher looks forward to each morning when she walks through the door and greets her. Lily, you are sweet and loving. Your personality and positive attitude is one in a million and we are so glad to get to spend this school year with you.

We are so blessed to have Officer Micah Green at Northside!

Please join us in thanking every incredible person in this photo! They are the ones day in and day out protecting our campuses, students, and staff. They have undergone training that prepares them for all possibilities. They love our kids and would do anything to protect them. So, as we wrap up Texas Safe Schools Week, let's appreciate them today - but also every day!

Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Brown spent this week, in Round Rock, at the TEPSA Principal’s conference. We are so excited to bring our knowledge back to Waxahachie and continue to make Northside the best place for kids to learn and grow.

Before the STAAR tests, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Thrash, Ms. Wilson and Mrs. Foster sat and had individual meetings with each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade student. We looked at their data from assessments throughout the school year and made goals for STAAR that were focused on PERSONAL GROWTH. They received a water balloon, per goal that was met, to throw at an administrator of their choosing. We handed out 124 water balloons today…meaning there were 124 goals met. We are so proud of our students!

Our hearts are with the 15 families that will never be the same. Our hearts go out to our Northside parents as we know events like this burden your hearts and cause you to worry. We work so hard on a daily basis to ensure the safety of your precious children. Thank you for trusting us.

Congratulations to Mrs. Sutton and Mrs. Mills for success on their Education Foundation grant that will be used to fill our Maker Mindset space full of all of the things for our makers! Next time you are on campus, check out this new space in the front foyer, outside of the library!
