Please join us in congratulating our two outstanding Career & Technical Education May Staff of the Month recipients!
๐ Robin Woodley โ Coleman Junior High School
Mrs. Woodley teaches Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses at Coleman Junior High and serves as a team lead for our CTE department. She coordinates Career Day at Coleman, helps lead professional development events, and is known for being organized, resourceful, and always willing to support her colleagues. Most importantly, Mrs. Woodley has a passion for working with students and helping them discover career pathways that align with their interests and goals. We are grateful for the leadership and dedication she brings to our CTE programs each day!
๐ Jackie Smiley โ Waxahachie High School
Mrs. Smiley serves as the receptionist for the CTE Department at Waxahachie High School and is often the first person students, parents, business partners, and guests meet when they visit. She greets everyone with a smile and represents our department with professionalism and kindness. Behind the scenes, Mrs. Smiley works tirelessly to keep our department running smoothly and is always willing to jump in wherever help is needed. Her positive attitude and commitment make her an invaluable member of our CTE team.

๐ Waxahachie ISD CTE Staff of the Month โ April ๐
Waxahachie ISD CTE is proud to recognize Mr. Darrin Ray and Mrs. Lindsey Thompson as our CTE Staff of the Month for April!
๐ฎโโ๏ธ Mr. Darrin Ray (Law Enforcement) is the definition of servant leadership. He is always stepping up to help wherever needed โ covering classes, making sure the copier is stocked with paper each morning, and consistently showing kindness and respect to everyone around him. In fact, he has literally given others the hoodie off his back on cold days.
Beyond his generosity, Mr. Ray has built incredible relationships with his students. He genuinely cares for them and would do anything to support their success. His passion for teaching is evident every single day as he teaches bell to bell with energy, purpose, and heart. Mr. Ray pours tremendous effort into creating meaningful lessons and experiences for his students, and his impact on Waxahachie ISD CTE does not go unnoticed.
๐งฌ Mrs. Lindsey Thompson (Anatomy & Physiology/DC Biology) is an outstanding educator who consistently creates engaging, student-centered learning experiences in her classroom. She deeply cares for her students and works hard to ensure they are supported, challenged, and inspired each day.
Recently, Mrs. Thompson and Ms. Grace were informed that they will be awarded a grant from the Waxahachie Education Foundation. This grant funding will help provide more hands-on learning opportunities in their Anatomy and Forensic Science classes, giving students meaningful real-world experiences that enhance classroom learning. Mrs. Thompson is also continually growing professionally and is a valued member of the CTE 1600 Hallway team.
Congratulations to both Mr. Ray and Mrs. Thompson on being named our Waxahachie ISD CTE Staff of the Month for April! Thank you both for the incredible impact you make on students, staff, and the entire CTE program each and every day. ๐๐
A special thank you to Fig Tree Energy Services for sponsoring the gifts for our CTE Staff of the Month recipients and for being such a valuable industry partner for Waxahachie ISD CTE. We truly appreciate your continued support of our students, staff, and programs!
