Waxahachie High School AP Human Geography students took their learning outside! Students explored the internal structure of cities by designing chalk drawings of their assigned city models. They then presented to their peers, explaining how each model works and discussing its strengths and limitations. Thanks, Ms. Helton, for giving your students a place to create!

5th Grade Math Telescoping students from Simpson Elementary, Northside Elementary School, and Wedgeworth Elementary School enjoyed a trip to the Dallas Zoo for a behind-the-scenes look at the marketing that goes into their special events. What an exciting tie-in to their real world zoo project where they explored financial literacy!

Teams from Dunaway Elementary School, Simpson Elementary, Wilemon STEAM Academy and Marvin Biomedical Academy participated and shined throughout the tournament with their innovation & creativity on full display! Waxahachie High School Pre-AP English 2 students visited "feast" stations in class, one for each ode to food to start their poetry unit. Students visited each station, where they read an ode and could either answer questions, add evidence or different understanding to answers from previous groups, or disagree with answers from previous groups. They then chose their favorite ode and analyzed it then wrote their own original ode! What a fun way for students to reflect on each other's thinking and responses! Shoutout to Ms. Teague for creating memorable learning experiences for her students!
