Recycling Event today! This is just some of the wonderful vendors that set up and are here supporting this wonderful event. Come by with your scrap tires, household hazardous waste(chemicals, batteries, paints, etc). Goodwill is on site taking donations. We have lots of information from Pike Soil & Water, The Recovery Council, and many other great information stations. T&S Sweets is here with some delicious food! your reminder that the next few weeks are the BEST time to thrift.

Christmas just ended.
Kids got new toys.
Closets are overflowing.
Moms are overwhelmed and ready to clear it out.

That means:
• barely used toys
• clothes with tags
• puzzles, books, games
• home decor that just didn’t fit anymore

January = donation season.
Someone else’s overwhelm is your thrift store jackpot.

Go slow. Dig deep. And thank the moms who just needed their space back.

We have it on authority that secondhand holiday shopping makes your heart grow three sizes. 💗

So before you head to the local mall (or default to Amazon), slow down and list out what you’re seeking to buy the people in your life. Chances are, much of what’s on your list can be found secondhand online or IRL at a thrift or vintage shop.

Plus, pre-loved stuff has W A Y more character than something poorly-made that you just click-to-buy and have shipped in 24 hours. Normalize secondhand this holiday season!

I get asked if I keep my used vintage ribbon and tags, or if I ask for them back. Most of my family members just know that I’ll take them back instead of putting them in the trash. If they want to keep them to reuse themselves, I’m also okay with that! ☺️ Here is what I got back today. ♥️

When it comes to wrapping paper do you know about the scrunch test? Srunch your paper into a ball........
♻️ If it stays as a ball you can recycle it
🗑️ If it unfolds it needs to go in the waste bin

Remember to remove any extra embellishments, ribbons, tags before you recycle.
