First annual Step Up Day, 2022!

•5th graders transitioning to and hearing from 6th grade teachers.

•6th grade students partnered with and led by 7th grade students to experience ”A Day in the Life of a 7th Grader.”

With the guidance of Miss Miller, these 6th graders raised money during their 4th quarter community service project for ELP.

Congratulations to our track athletes at their conference meet Friday!! Both 7th & 8th girls finished 1st, 7th boys finished 1st and 8th boys places 2nd!

Thank you to all the Leaders who served this year. (This in only a fraction of our student leaders!) Thank you to our Lighthouse Teacher team who helped guide the work.

Leader in Me is helping us live out our mission of being a welcoming school community striving to grow, learn and LEAD!

School will be dismissed at 1:15. There is no track and field practice.

We would like to thank our local businesses who came to support our 6th graders today. Students were provided a professional opportunity to practice interviewing with the focus on their 6th grade experiences.

This financial literacy program teaches
how to prioritize your needs and wants, the difference between cash and credit, investing and the importance of forming a savings habit.

Due to inclement weather tomorrow's boys' meet at Charles City and tomorrow's girls' meet at home have been cancelled. The meets will not be rescheduled due to the number of teams involved.

Additionally, there will not be any track practice after school on Thursday, April 14.

The Leader In Me Communication Team spent time with Wartburg professors and students today working through new ideas and plans to keep improving our Monday morning announcements, as well as our print and social media communication.

We would like to thank Jimmy John's, Ignite Nutrition, and our 5th & 6th grade readers for making our reading challenge a HUGE success! Here are this year's reading CHAMPIONS!

Another great day of serving others! W-SR Staff & families packaged the equivalent of 647 meals for families.

7th grade students contributed to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank's Empty Bowls fundraiser project.

Every year we try to provide around 20-25 bowls that are student built for them to use for their annual fundraiser.

Some 5th and 6th graders visited Wartburg College this week to learn about the 7 Habits with the Community Builder’s class. Not only did they extend their learning, but also provided feedback to the college students. Talk about a Win•Win!
