A little MIG Weld-off before next week's Hawkeye Community College event. Congrats to Tristian Froelich, Korbyn Dewey, and Sean Albers (Brody Mundt-Alternate). A lot of good welders in all our current and past classes, but be humble while looking forward to a good next week official competition.

Go-Hawk Manufacturing is our student-run metal fabrication business, but that is not all we do. Austin Brown, recent graduate from WSR HS, is wrapping up a Registered Apprenticeship with GMT Fabrication and has been hired on full-time. Austin is 17 years old, will be holding a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate in his hand in a couple of months which is the equivalent of a 2-year college degree. We can do more in high school then we ever thought possible even 5 years ago. He will be the first ever completer of a RA Program at WSR. Congrats Austin- you show what can be achieved with hard work and determination.

2nd Section- Fall 2018- Gohawk Manufacturing 01/24/2019

This team was able to come into the shop with a lot of the setup work done from the last section of class, and were able to get right to work on customer projects. They still helped on shop improvement projects, as improving our space is ongoing. This team spent a lot more time working with outside customers and started to learn the "business" side of our manufacturing business. Only 1 student from the first section of class, the rest were 1st semester students. We did a lot of projects, but the teacher really slacked on taking pictures!

Gohawk Manufacturing- First Ever Section- Spring 2018 01/06/2019

A team of students that started this student run enterprise within Waverly-Shell Rock High School. They spent countless class and extra hours to convert our shop space into a modern shop by creating tool holders, welding tables, classroom tables, and much more. All while still working on customer projects and school repair projects.
