I had the awesome opportunity to return to Wartburg College Sunday to receive an Alumni Citation, an honor given to three alums each year who live out the college’s mission, living “lives of leadership and service as a spirited expression of their faith and learning.” I got to see former professors, sing with the Wartburg Choirs again, bond with friends and celebrate with my whole family. Wartburg is still such a blessing to me and the people there still are so influential in my life.
If you have a high school student interested in Wartburg, I’d be happy to share my experiences and even fill out a scholarship referral form worth $4000! It truly is a special place and I’m incredibly proud to be an alum.

Today, I’m wearing orange - my alma mater Wartburg College’s school color - to celebrate their annual surprise day off. For more than a century, students have a vacation day built in but no one knows when it is until that morning.

Wartburg College student media members were honored at the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Upper Midwest Chapter’s 2023 Student Production Awards ceremony in Minneapolis. The student production awards honor college and high school student TV and media productions from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Wartburg Knight Vision’s "Fall Sports Special" received a Crystal Pillar for outstanding achievement in the College Sports Program category. Senior Henry Hahn received the 2023 College AV All-Star from the Upper Midwest Emmy Foundation. While we aren't taking sides in the big game today, we're thrilled for Luke Shanno '09, the senior director of corporate communications for the Kansas City Chiefs. He found a minute in the run-up to the Super Bowl to shoot us a quick note and this photo with his parents, Diane and Randy.

"This has been an incredibly memorable year and I feel lucky to have found a career that rarely feels like work. I appreciate the support I have from my family as well as the messages of congratulations I’ve received from my larger Wartburg family over the past few weeks.
