Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Columbus Dance Team Showcase this afternoon! We were so glad to host our talented local teams Cedar Falls Dance Team, Don Bosco, Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo West High Wahawk Dance Team, WSR Dance Team, and Waverly-Shell Rock Color Guard. Wishing everyone luck in the final weeks leading up to State!

Thank you to members of the University of Northern Iowa Dance Team for volunteering in concessions and running music, to Columbus administration for helping to coordinate the Showcase, and finally - a huge thank you to our dance team families for making today a success! We couldn’t do it without your love and support all season long 💚⚓️

The award-winning Waverly-Shell Rock Dance Team will host a dance team and talent exhibition on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 3:30 p.m. in the new gym at Waverly-Shell Rock high school.

The Best of the Best Dance Team Showcase will feature a collection of performances by the W-SR Dance Team and guest performances by the W-SR Dancing Dads, Junior Go-Hawk Dancers, Cedar Falls Dance Team, Waverly-Shell Rock Color Guard, Dance Wave, and many more!

Admission is $5/person. Children three and under are free.

All proceeds from the showcase will go toward costumes, equipment, travel costs, choreography and competition fees for the Go-Hawk Dance Team.

The Waverly-Shell Rock Color Guard is made up of students in 9th-12th grade enrolled in the Band who would like to help visualize the music they play. We also perform for pep assembly's and community events. We spend the winter preparing to compete in the Iowa State Dance & Drill Team competition in Des Moines, IA. It’s not too late! Sign-up to join the 21-22 WSR Dance Team today! All students that will be in grades 9-12 next year are welcome. NO CUTS! Everyone is placed on a team (JV, Varsity, Competition). Fill out the registration form (bit.ly/WSRDanceSignUp) - and you will receive tryout routines in advance to learn on your own. We will review material at practices beginning 3/22. Formal Tryout/Evaluation scores are used to place dancers on respective teams.
