Fund the Fortress - Wartburg Choir International Tour 2026 Whenever a choir travels, there are always extra costs for which other trips would not have to plan. On average, besides each member’s individual fee, transportation costs to and from airports alone are about $10,000. Saturday, February 7 from 2:00-3:30 pm, the Wartburg Choir is hosting a meet-and-greet at Ankeny High School. This is a chance for you to sing with the Wartburg Choir and spend some time visiting with Dr. Nelson and our students about what college life, choir, and music is like at Wartburg College. The afternoon will be very casual with lots of singing, conversation, and time to ask questions.

Arrive at Ankeny HS a bit before 2:00 pm.
Warm up and sing side by side with the Wartburg Choir!
We will read through Elaine Hagenberg’s piece Through Love to Light together
The Wartburg Choir will sing a piece or two for you
Then we will have some time to chat about campus life, scholarships, touring, and what it’s really like to be part of our musical community.
We’ll end the afternoon with desserts!

The event will run approximately 2:00–3:30 pm, is completely free, and is open to all high school singers. You can come and go as you please so if you need to come late or leave early, no problem!

You are welcome to bring your whole ensemble, come as an individual or even bring your family to learn more about Wartburg College!
