We would like to welcome Joseph Skinner from Detroit Lakes, MN to the Knight Family! He has verbally committed and excited to join us this fall! He is proud of being Most Outstanding Player in his conference and averaged 206 at State Competition. He has used his favorite ball the Motiv Villain through so many different situations and, it now has became his 2-handed ball.

We have the honor of having Matt Tudor from Independence high school in Iowa joining our team for next year! He signed his letter of intent surrounded by his family, coaches, and teammates. He is truly a team-oriented person and will support those around him with great optimism! He will lead by example as he works to improve himself on and off the lanes and lift those around him while doing so. Welcome Matt Tudor to the Knight Bowling team and family!

Here we go Pin pledge time! Let’s score big today!!

Wow what a great weekend of bowling competition for the knights! We had some great program firsts including: Highest place finish by the Women’s team (3rd Place), 1st match play appearance by the women’s team, and 1st All tournament appearance by Jace Goedel on the men’s team.
Our program has come a long way from when it was started 4 years ago. We have overcome a lot (between bowling alley issues, equipment troubles, team chemistry, etc.) and we continue to grow as a program and as people. I am impressed with the effort this group has put into their learning and progress to get us this far.
I heard an analogy that fits quite well with where we are at so far. The closer we come to mountain peak, the larger and more daunting it looks, but all we have to do is look behind us to see how far we’ve gone and how small the ground looks. It is hard to recognize this team now from where we were at.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from us at Knight Nation! As I reflected back on the tournaments and how far the team has come, I am super proud and excited for what’s to come.

It’s been 4 years since we had bowled out in Las Vegas and an environment we hadn’t been used to. All season we had seen more movement in the mid-lanes and less backend. These lanes played the opposite to that. The first day was all about learning the lanes and what can work, communication with teammates, and building each other up through the tough breaks.

The ladies placed middle of the pack both tournaments and everyone contributed to build the team’s score. They truly supported each other, cheered together, and overcame the frustrating breaks. It’s been awesome to have this team have fun and start to bowl like they should be!

While the men left a lot of pins on the deck in their 10th frames, they were on pace for 900 every set. Their spare game has come a long way and continues to build. I keep waiting for the day everyone is on the same page and firing on full cylinders!

I am excited for the back half of the season and what 2022 brings to the Wartburg Knights bowling team!

We have another verbal commitment coming from just down the road! Matthew Tudor has decided to call the Knights his teammates next season! Welcome Matthew to the Knight family!
Matthew started bowling when he was 8 years old and has been bowling on varsity at Independence high school for 4 years. His high score is a 246, and he was proud to get first place in a doubles tournament with partner Teegan Cross.
His favorite bowling ball is the Motiv Ripcord!

We would like to welcome Dylan Obowa to the team. Dylan currently bowls for Fergus Falls, MN. Some of his accomplishments have been bowling a 300 during a tournament and getting 3rd at the JV State Tournament. He has been working on improving his game getting ready for his collegiate career!

His favorite bowling ball is the Venom Shock from Motiv.

Finally get a chance to breathe after hosting this weekend’s tournaments. We rode through the ups and downs that comes with 73 team games thrown. I want to congratulate the Mount Mercy University Bowling teams for their performances this weekend and running the tournament championships. I want to also thank Jeff Johll for stepping up as score keeper and helping to run a smooth tournament Sunday.

We have had some disappointments since we became a team and look to find successes where we can. This weekend certainly marked a huge success for the women’s program who came in 4th on Sunday and was only 90 pins shy of 2nd place. Shout out to Andrew Nolte for leading the women's team this weekend. We had men standing further left than ever before where a few were standing on board 54 (in front of the ball return) throwing to board 18 at the arrows and did it successfully. On Saturday the men’s team came back after a rough start to finish 7th with most of the jumps happening during baker games.

I wanted to give a shout out to the seniors for leading the team and having worked extremely hard these last 3 ½ seasons to improve this team. I wanted to give a special shout out to senior Ridley Mullenbach as he had been left out Sunday from the announcements.

We will return to the lanes on Oct. 30th for the Five Seasons Classic in Cedar Rapids, IA. Until then, we will push ourselves harder and strive for more because we know where we should be! Let’s continue to push forward and grow together!

Cedar Valley Invite switching between men and women!

We are headed to our first event this week in Wauwatosa, WI. We will try to be live-streaming the men on this page at about 9:30 am and live-streaming the women on the Wartburg Bowling Live Stream page at about 10 am (as long as the connections hold). We have put in the work to improve, now is the time to demonstrate our commitment to each other. We may be limited in our live-streaming as it will be available to watch on Bowltv.com. If we can stream, we will!
Being in the moment, committed to bringing our best each shot, always encouraging, taking control over what we can, having fun, and overcoming frustration. These are the values we strive to display this year!

Cheer us on and encourage us as we look to bowl our best!

We kick off our season tonight with a weight lifting and classroom training tonight to apply for on lanes practice tomorrow! Learn and apply, its how we grow! 1% better each day!
