Welcome to the Student Center Council page for Wartburg College! Like this page to get updates on our fun AND FREE events! Student Center Council (SCC) provides Wartburg students with several events that are on campus and FREE!

We want to bring students together in a safe atmosphere where they can have fun with their friends. Some of these events include Monster Bash, Homecoming Dinner, PB&J Knight, Snack Bowl, and the Food Olympics!! These are all FREE EVENTS for students!!

[01/10/19]   As of January 2019, Student Center Council (SCC) will no longer be an active organization at Wartburg College and our page will be deleted. Thank you to all of those have attended our functions and to those that have worked so hard to make the events possible. Its been fun!! 🥺

Don't forget to come to the ballrooms on Sunday the 4th, at 5:15pm to watch the Super Bowl on a 10x10 screen with NACHOS and ROOT BEER FLOATS!

Are you stressing over finals and the term coming to an end?? We have the perfect way to help!
Come and join us for the PB&J Knight Study Break on December 12th from 9:00pm-11:00 pm in the Ballrooms!! This is a FREE EVENT!!!! Come in and have a snack and relax while you talk with friends and classmates! We look forward to seeing you there!!

[10/30/17]   Monster Bash and the COSTUME CONTEST is tomorrow, Oct 31st!
Come and help Student Center Council and Dining Services celebrate Halloween by dressing as your favorite character at the Monster Bash on Tuesday, October 31st from 5:15 pm to 7:00 pm in Mensa.
There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize in the COSTUME CONTEST.
The meal will feature HALLOWEEN MUSIC, Zombie Punch, and Dirt Dessert. You can also decorate your own cookie too!
We hope to see everyone there!!!!

[10/24/17]   Monster bash is in exactly one week!
The bakery is already planning to make the three cookie cakes for the costume contest!
With fall break coming upon us, don't forget to bring your Halloween costume back on campus! We'd love to see everyone dressed up while enjoying punch, DIRT DESSERT, and Chicken parm.

I'll see you in the mensa on Tuesday the 31st from 5:15-7!

Wartburg Students: Food Olympics has been cancelled

As a reminder, Food Olympics is not being held this year. I realize that it is on the academic calendar, but it has been cancelled.

[12/12/16]   Its Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!
PB&J Knight Study Break is tomorrow evening, Tuesday, December 13 from 9pm-11pm in the Ballrooms! This is a FREE EVENT for the students and it is sponsored by Student Center Council (SCC)!! Take a break from your studies and come have a snack and be sociable at the same time. The menu consists of white and wheat bread, creamy and crunchy peanut butter, strawberry jam, grape jelly, and white or chocolate milk. Hope to see everyone there!!

[10/25/16]   MONSTER BASH IS TONIGHT IN MENSA FROM 5:15 TO 7:00 pm!!
Come dressed as your favorite character to compete in the COSTUME CONTEST, listen to spooky Halloween music, decorate your own Halloween cookie, drink punch and have Dirt Dessert!!

[04/14/16]   The 2016 Food Olympics are being held on May 5th, which is also Cinco de Mayo, so what better way to celebrate than with a Cinco de Mayo themed Food Olympics?!
We will have a picnic with walking tacos from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and some great games to follow! We are doing a little twist on our regular games this year and having Cinco de Mayo themed games!
You can sign yourself or your team up for the games during lunch and dinner in Mensa on Tuesday or Wednesday, May 3rd and 4th or at registration on the 5th at 4:45 to 5:30 pm. There will be some pretty amazing prizes, and one person that participates in 3 games will be chosen for the GRAND PRIZE!! Believe us when we say that its a great one too!!

[03/15/16]   Sign Ups for the March 23rd Candlelight Dinner, hosted by the Science Club, are being held on March 16 & 17!!!!

Have you ever been to a Candlelight Dinner? DId you not sign up because you thought that it was just for people that are part of the organization? Or maybe because you think that it will cost too much??

Candlelight Dinners are for ALL STUDENTS!! You don't need to be part of the organization to attend.

While they are a great way to learn more information about the hosting organizations, they are also a great way to have a semi-formal 3 course meal for next to nothing! If you are on a board plan, the cost is just $2 plus a meal, and if you are not on a board plan, its just $10, which is a great deal!!

So sign up Wednesday or Thursday during dinner (make sure to bring your $2 or $10 with you when you sign up!) and come and see what Candlelight Diners are all about!! This is a great way to get a really nice meal and enjoy great atmosphere with your friends!

[03/01/16]   Student Center Council and Dining Services would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone that submitted recipes or participated in Recipes From Home 2016. The results are in and due to student response, we will be adding all of the recipes that we taste tested in Mensa!! The recipes are Chifrijo, Oatmeal Pumpkin Carmelita, Jamaican Rice and Beans, and Buffalo Chicken Casserole. These items will be added to the menu starting in May Term, and Beef and Noodles will be added at a later date, so keep your eyes open for them!
