Sun Bucks for School Aged Kids!

Introducing Iowa’s New SUN Bucks Program! Starting in
early June 2026, eligible Iowa school-age children will
receive $120 in grocery benefits per child to support
healthy eating when school’s out.
There are two ways children can qualify for SUN Bucks:
automatic eligibility or with an application. Most eligible
families won’t need to file a SUN Bucks application. But if
you do, applications open in early June.

The 2025-2026 school year was a 𝙋𝙃𝙀𝙉𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙉𝘼𝙇 year of growth and achievement across the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District.

Together, our students, staff, and families have truly lived out our mission to help every Go-Hawk 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱.

From early childhood classrooms to our graduating seniors, progress happens every single day. Because of our community's steadfast support, we continue to expand opportunities for exploration and build a bright future for every student.

Thank you for a wonderful year, Go-Hawks! Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer. We can't wait to welcome our students back on August 24, 2026, for the start of the 2026-2027 school year! ☀️💛🖤

We loved welcoming the 6th graders from W-SR Middle School this week as part of their Child Care for PBL course. The children had an amazing time with their new middle school friends; it was special to see those connections being made. We hope to have them visit again next year!

Summer fun is in full swing, and safety always comes first at Waverly Child Care and Preschool!

Here are 5 important ways we help keep our little ones safe while enjoying outdoor play this summer:

👀 Keep a close “water watcher” near pools & sprinklers

🔥 Be mindful of hot playground surfaces
