Last night, the Warriors took the field against Fowlerville for the Copper Cup Championship, and while the night didn't end the way we hoped, there was a LOT to be proud of!
Despite missing a few players, this team stepped up, battled hard, and LEFT IT ALL ON THE FIELD! It was a tough, competitive game from start to finish. The Warriors fought until the final whistle but ultimately came up just short in a 1–0 loss.
Of course, we wanted to bring home the trophy, but there is more to this game than wins and losses. Every game is an opportunity to learn, grow, and get better! And that's exactly what this team continues to do.
A HUGE thank you to all the Warrior fans who came out to support these guys! Your encouragement from the sidelines means more than you know!
Proud of the effort. Proud of the fight. Proud of these WARRIORS!
Keep your heads up, boys. There's still work to do!

🏆⚽️ COPPER CUP — CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND! ⚽️🏆
Game one of the copper cup tournament was a great night for the Warriors! JV kicked things off with a FAST start! The Warriors were connecting pass after pass, creating some great offensive opportunities, and it paid off with a 5–2 VICTORY!
JV GOAL SCORERS:
⚽️ Medy Nunez — 2 goals
⚽️ Arisa Daniel — 2 goals
⚽️ Kason Mendenhall — 1 goal
WAY TO GO, JV WARRIORS!
Then came VARSITY, and this one was a battle from start to finish! The first half ended 0–0, but the Warriors came out ON FIRE to start the second half! 🔥
John AlShoufani ripped a great shot that the keeper managed to save, but Xavier Grant was right there to put the deflection into the back of the net for the first goal of the night!
And we weren't done! Less than five minutes later, Ahvyar Paydawy served up a BEAUTIFUL corner kick, and Parker Harris rose up and headed it over the goal line for our second goal!
The defense held strong all the way to the final whistle, and the Warriors came away with a 2–1 VICTORY!
That win sends WAVERLY TO THE COPPER CUP CHAMPIONSHIP! 🏆⚽️ Game will be varsity only on Wednesday at 6pm at Fowlerville. We need our Warrior fans there! Come out, pack the sidelines, and help us cheer this team on as they battle for the COPPER CUP!

⚽️ TOUGH NIGHT IN OKEMOS ⚽️
It was a tough night for both JV and Varsity as the Warriors traveled to Okemos.
JV battled hard, as they always do, fighting all the way to the final whistle. You could see the team working together stringing passes together even as they had to battle to defend a really good JV opponent. This group continues to show grit, determination, and growth every time they step on the field.
Then came Varsity, who once again put together a great performance against a really tough team. Early in the second half, Ahvyar Paydawy worked hard to pressure the Okemos goalkeeper, and that pressure paid off! His effort earned the Warriors a penalty kick, and Ahvyar stepped up and buried it for his FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON! ⚽️🔥
That goal made the score 2–1, and the Warriors continued to battle. We had multiple opportunities to get back on the board and make things interesting, but just couldn't find the finish. The night ended in a 5–1 loss, but this team showed a LOT to be proud of. They worked hard, stayed disciplined, stayed organized, and continued to compete against a very good Okemos team.
The scoreboard may not have gone our way, but the fight, effort, and growth of this team continue to be something special. Keep working, Warriors. Keep getting better. The best is still ahead! ⚽️

⚽️ SENIOR NIGHT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Last night was a SPECIAL night for Waverly Boys Soccer as we celebrated and honored our seniors! These guys have put in countless hours, battled through tough games, and helped build something special—and last night, when it was time to play, THEY CAME TO PLAY! 🔥

And here’s a pretty incredible stat: It has been OVER 10 YEARS since Waverly Boys Soccer has mercied an opponent! 😳🔥 That makes last night’s performance even more special. Everyone contributed. Everyone battled. Everyone played a role. And most importantly, this team played TOGETHER.
