Congratulations to Britta Solheim on being named Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the MWLC!
Congratulations, Misha!
Join us in applauding our seniors, who will play their final concert with the orchestra on April 9.
Misha Seebeck grew up in Colfax, Iowa, He came to Wartburg because it offered an opportunity to fulfill three of his main passions through a wonderful engineering program, plus soccer and music. He will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering science and minors in Spanish and mathematics. He has accepted a position with the Pella Corporation as a Process Engineer 1.
Wartburg Community Symphony is Misha’s only music group. One of his favorite memories occurred during his freshman year, when he played principle horn in a December performance of The Nutcracker Suite.
“Music is very important in my life,” Misha reflects, “because it offers a soothing escape from the realities of life, and it has allowed me to express myself in a different way.”
Congratulations to Lucas (Engr. 22) on being named Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Roling Earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors - Wartburg College Athletics CEDAR RAPIDS, IA- Trent Roling earned his first-career Defensive Player of the Week honors from the American Rivers Conference after having an outstanding performance in the Knights final game of the season.
One of the things I love about teaching at Wartburg is watching (or at least hearing about) my student engineers excel at their various other vocations.
For example, in reviewing athletic summary articles this morning I saw discussion of outstanding contributions by:
Jace Moore (F'21) - Football - quarterback
Trent Roling (M'22) - Football - interception for a TD
Joe Pins (M'23) - Wresting - major decision
Marshun Williams (M'24) - Basketball - leading scorer with 19 pts
And I'm sure I'm missing some.

I got to spend the morning with some amazing (hopefully) future Wartburg Engineers. We designed a mechanism to shift gears and/or turn on blinkers if you were driving with only one arm. We also had 2 very different approaches to putting toothpaste on your tooth brush if you had only one arm. Small but mighty group - I hope to get to work with you again soon.
Engineers working in industry - could you spare a minute to fill out the following survey for one of our 1st year groups. They are investigating the Engineering Grand Challenge of Enhancing Virtual Reality and are wondering how you have seen VR in your industry.
Much thanks from both Dr. LeAnn and the students.

And our semester is off to a solid start. First years have selected groups and met the book support challenge - some better than others - I love the diversity of ideas. Can’t wait to see what these Engineers accomplish.
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated the accomplishments of our 2021 class of Engineers. Here are some memories from their time here at Wartburg. We are very proud of you all!!

Usually at the beginning of April I get to boast a little about our students and the amazing design projects they present at RICE day. This year, RICE day couldn't happen so instead I would like to invite any and all of you to listen in to their final presentations Friday 4/17 from 10:30-12:30 via zoom.

ES350 students are juniors who learn about the design process over the course of a semester by designing a device that would improve life and the economy in a developing country.
ES360/460 students are seniors who implement a year long design project with a community partner that (usually) results in a delivered device that addresses an identified need.
Each winter semester ES 152 students (mostly freshmen Engineering majors) learn to use CREO Parametric - they show off their new skills by recreating an object of their choice using the CAD software. This year's mid semester exodus of campus added a special twist since about half the class lost access to CREO and had to learn a new software in order to complete their projects. Our Engineering class of 2023 were up to the challenge and this afternoon presented their CAD replicas via Zoom. As always, I am amazed that these students knew next to nothing about CAD 15 weeks ago and created these amazingly accurate models.
Also, congratulations to Cael Boehmer whose flashlight model was selected as Most Impressive by his classmates.
