Today’s football games were fantastic, and the Waverly/Troy game tonight was one of the most watched broadcasts in the history of WNN!

I also want to extend a big thanks to our camera operators Aiden and Jared, our director Carly, and the voice of Waverly Football on WNN, Giff! What a way to kick off the season. Let’s Go!

There seem to be a lot of scam posts on Facebook about where to watch today's Waverly football game. WNN is the official streaming channel of Waverly Central Schools. We will be covering both the Tioga vs. Windsor game at 3pm and the Waverly vs. Troy game at 6pm. Follow this link to get to our YT channel. Don't forget to subscribe to help us grow our new channel. Attention Wolverine fans: We’re back! WNN will be on a new YouTube channel starting now. Please subscribe to our new channel, and share this post, so we can get the word out. New channels have restrictions on them until reaching a certain subscriber threshold, so we need to build up the subscriber count quickly! Share, share, share! The first broadcast will be this weekend’s football games. Tioga vs. Windsor at 3pm and then your Waverly Wolverines vs. Troy at 6pm. Tune in to see some great football!

Hello WNN fans!

I have some sad news to report today. Late last week, YouTube said that we violated the community standards and removed our channel without warning. This is a crushing blow, because we have been building a subscriber content base that represented many thousands of hours of hard work by our students and staff over the last 8 years.

Our appeal was immediately dismissed, and although we are not done trying, it seems that the odds of reclaiming our channel and rescuing all of the content are not good. We are currently working on what the next steps will be for WNN. We will continue to broadcast, but now we need you to follow new links to get to our streams.

1. For the WNN Morning Show, concerts and school events, and sporting events for which we have commentators, go to the school website and click the link called “WNN Live Stream” at the top of the page. This is the direct link: https://ideas.gstboces.org/Waverly/hs/

This link will be for live streams only, and there will be no archive available afterwards.

2. For the automated streams from our stadium and gymnasium cameras, download the Hudl Fan app and search for Waverly.

We will update you as we know more about our future. We are researching other platforms, and I’m sure by the ‘25-‘26 school year, a new plan will be in place, and we’ll ask for your help in spreading the word when the time comes.

As the head of the Wolverine News Network, and a proud Tioga alumnus, I would like to respond to some of the online chatter about our broadcast tonight.

We have multiple ways to stream a football game. Tonight we chose to use our Hudl Focus camera. This camera is fully automated, and mounted on the front of the press box at the 50 yard line. We chose that option because it is waterproof, and our other setups are not. There was rain throughout the game tonight, so I maintain that it was the right choice.

This camera system gives a lower quality image of the scoreboard at night, and the sound from the stadium speakers does not get into the stream well. There is nothing we can do about either of those things. This camera has literally no controls, except to turn it on and off.

Because of the rain, it was this option, or no stream at all. I stand by that choice, despite spending the evening having our broadcast consistently insulted and disparaged.

I have also read complaints of audience behavior and language during the game. WNN broadcasts the game. We are not in charge of the live audience, and have no power to control what they do or say. The microphone will pick up whatever is said in the area around it, so watching our livestream comes with the same risk as attending the event in person.

I am neither defending nor condemning the Wolverine fans tonight. Personally, I am a stickler for good sportsmanship in my own life, and insist upon it for my children and students. However, I have watched high school sports all over the southern tier for the last 30 years, and I don’t think our fans are, in general, any better or any worse than any others. Most are sportsmanlike and positive, but sometimes the loudest are not.

We appreciate all of the support that WNN has received over the 7 years of our existence, and 3 years of sports broadcasts. We only ask that our viewers keep in mind that we are a student broadcasting organization at a small-town high school. In turn, we will continue to do our best to bring Waverly athletics to YouTube with the highest level of quality that we can.
