Position Summary
The Assistant Principal vacancy is a new position targeted to begin on January 3, 2022, to assist the School Director and CEO in preparing to launch Wisconsin Innovation Academy, a new public 4K-8 Charter School for students from the City of Milwaukee and nearby suburbs in Fall 2022. Following this launch period, the position will become full time (12 months). The Assistant Principal Qualifications and Responsibilities listed below are intended to attract both aspiring and experienced school leaders who have the capability and capacity to work effectively with students, staff, and parents in all aspects of growing and sustaining a new charter school and its innovative mission.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required and master’s degree preferred
Successful teaching experience with student diversity required
Eligibility for WI certification as an assistant principal in a charter school required and International Baccalaureate (IB) certification and teaching experience preferred
Community engagement experience including marketing and recruiting
Major Responsibilities
Leadership or support in all aspects of preparing to launch a new school
Capability and capacity to work effectively with staff, students, and parents
Community engagement and marketing
Faculty and staff recruitment, hiring, and development
Protocol development and consistency in school operations
Working directly with students and parents on student attendance and school safety

Total-Care at Wisconsin International Academy (WIA) is unique model for many young international students who want to study in the states.
