Graduates of MCW’s Masters of Science In Global Health Equity program are making an impact in research, clinical care, and community organizations around the world.
Alumna Emily Krueger shares how the program impacted her and how it changed the way she thinks of healthcare:
"As a medical student with a strong interest in global health, I was looking for a way to expand my knowledge and gain hands-on experience in research. The Masters of Science Global Health Equity Program was the perfect complement to my medical school coursework.
One of the main reasons I chose this program is its flexibility—it allowed me to explore global health topics that align with my passion, while also gaining the research skills necessary to collaborate with international partners. This experience not only enhanced my clinical training but also gave me a broader perspective on how healthcare systems work around the world.
As a general surgery resident now, I can confidently say that the program’s interdisciplinary approach has shaped the way I think about healthcare, both locally and globally. If you’re interested in global health and want to build meaningful research collaborations, this program is the perfect opportunity!"

One of the top reasons to choose a degree in Global Health Equity at MCW is its unique combination of rigorous academic training and practical application.
Carolina Cuevas, MS says:
“While completing my global health internship with Health Builders in Rwanda, I applied knowledge in health equity, nutrition research, and international community engagement to develop and implement nutrition-based educational resources. This experience provided me with hands-on skills in working with underserved populations, which I continue to apply in my professional career. Currently, I have the privilege of using my nutrition counseling skills to deliver personalized bilingual nutrition education sessions to cardiac rehabilitation patients to improve health outcomes.”
