The start of August means the start of school is only one month away. If you, or someone you know, is under age 18 and would like to get their Driver's License before summer 2027, NOW is the time to enroll in Driver's Ed.

Important Information that will require as many shares as possible.

Monday, 7/13/26, a new Driver's Education grant cycle will open up for students that qualify for free or reduced lunch at their school district. This is super important because I know this could positively impact a lot of families in our area. Additionally, this time of year is traditionally one of the busier times we see with new registrations.

Grant windows will close after all quarterly funding is exhausted. Usually, it only takes a day or two for the grant window to close. The next grant cycle will open in October.

FYI - I received an email earlier this week from the State of Wisconsin. Grant opportunities are still available immediately to any student that would normally qualify for free or reduced lunch programs at their school. If you believe that you, or your child, would qualify for this opportunity, please do not let it pass you by.

The following is from the most recent email sent out to Driver's Ed providers:

The Driver Education Grant program will launch on April 13th at 9:00AM. Students and/or parents may visit us at Wisconsin Department of Transportation Driver Education Grant Program to apply.

Income eligible students will be able to take classroom and/or behind the wheel training from accredited schools like yours. The process is the same as previous releases. The student will enroll, and DMV will provide those eligible with coupons to present to authorized Driver Training schools. Those schools enrolled as a WisDOT vendor will be reimbursed for their training provided.

If students apply but are not accepted for a grant this quarter, they can visit our notification list to be notified when the grant will be available again the next quarter. The notification list will be available when the grant is not.
