On this Autumn Equinox, this turning of the season, I hold my daughter close…

This seasonal transition is for honoring what we have grown and gathered, giving thanks for what we have received.

And this year, our harvest is the most abundant one yet… 🌹

Our baby girl arrived peacefully, at home, at the threshold of a new moon 🌑

After 62 hours of labor, she put mama to the ultimate test of resilience and fortitude, arriving on her own timeline, just like mama will remind her to live the remainder of her life by.

Endless gratitude for my boo and our midwives remaining steady, supporting the physiological, psychedelic portal of birth.

Now we welcome the introspective, darker months ahead… going inwards and attuning to this little teacher.

So much of the way we experience our bodies (and life, really) is from the outside in.

We learn to observe ourselves before we learn to inhabit ourselves.

We become disconnected from the living experience of being within.

But what if we learned to relate to our bodies from the inside out?

To meet the places within us that have gone numb.

To allow sensation to become a doorway back into relationship with ourselves.

Pregnancy has been such a profound opportunity for refinement here.

There was a stage where everything was changing.

My thoughts, emotions, my perception... unfamiliar, new.
My shape softened and expanded.

I found myself searching for the version of me I had known before.

And the invitation presented itself...

Can I stay?
Can I listen?
Can I meet myself here?

In those moments, I came back, over and over again, to the realization that life moves through us in ways the mind can never fully understand.

Beneath all the stories we’ve inherited about what things “should” be like, there is a deeper experience of life waiting to be met.

Embodiment is not simply about becoming more comfortable in our skin...

But remembering that we are souls moving through a profoundly mystical existence.

And this moment, in this body, is where life is unfolding for us if we just take the time to lean in, to soften, to listen.

It’s the peak of summer.

The heat wave is forcing us to strip down. Tie our hair back.
Say no to anything unnecessary in efforts to stay cool.

When you’re swallowing 97 degrees of humidity, your mind only feels sensation. The physical intensity forces us to remain present to what is.

Presence has been a recurring theme for me as I approach the final stretch of pregnancy.

Back in winter, I remember wishing for heat, for summer, for loose clothes and tanned skin. In those intense moments, I wished to be somewhere else.

Then summer came.

The hormones eased. The temperatures softened. And suddenly I found myself wishing I could slow down time. To savor all of it a little more. To be with it more.

There’s a saying in Serbian “ljudsko prokletstvo...” meaning “the curse of humanity.”

How often we wish for “something else.”

When we’re working a lot, we wish for more time. When we have time, we wish for more money. We spend so much of our lives reaching for the next thing that we forget to fully inhabit the moment we once wished for.

Maybe that’s the curse.

Not that life isn’t what we want, but that we’re so often somewhere else while it’s happening.

So whether what we’re facing is ecstasy or pain, may we allow ourselves the full experience, so one day we don’t find ourselves wishing we had been more present to the life we were already living.

Last June
at a radiance retreat in Ibiza…

This June,
preparing to bring through new life…

The wheel keeps turning.

As Summer Solstice approaches I’ve been reflecting on the cycles of our lives, the flow of energy moving inward and outward.

I’ve come to love these seasonal thresholds as opportunities to notice what this season is asking of us.

And there is something so radiant, so alive, so sensual about summer. The opportunity for full bloom, for opening, for potential 🌸

So on June 22nd, we’ll gather to celebrate the longest day of the year and the radiant life force moving through us.

Together we’ll honor this seasonal threshold through ritual, movement, reflection, and reconnection to the body as living earth.

Ritual is our nature.

Our lives are full of passages, initiations, celebrations and defeat… and all these require honoring, witnessing, blessing.

There is something so sacred about tending to phases of life… cultivating presence for the moment we’re in, making life’s transitions matter enough to celebrate, to sit in ceremony with, to share with community, to be witnessed, to experience for the fullness of what they are.

It’s through these passages that we too merge with something sacred.

A unified collective field of love and shared intention ripples outward and inward beyond measure.

And it changes us. It changes our experience. It changes how we feel and relate to the world. It changes how we relate to the Divine.

This past weekend, I got to help facilitate my dear friends Mama Blessing.

It was an honor and privilege to sit in a circle of women and tend to her body, wash away her fears, bless her and baby with love & support that will continue to extend into her motherhood journey.

As a circle of women, we used our power, our magic to cast our visions for the most beautiful birth and transition as baby arrives earth side 🌿

It was so tender.
And it was the most natural thing we could have done.

May ceremony become a way of Life. May we relearn what our ancestors knew. May we redefine community and magic and all we are capable of co-creating ✨may we celebrate new life coming through and hold space for them to Become the next and better stewards of these lands, of this earth, this Life.

Scorpio Full Flower Moon + Beltane, the bright fire of the Sun, the peak of Spring, a season to create and transform…

…it seems fitting today to share about the metamorphosis of pregnancy, the wonder and intensity of what it takes to create life…

Pregnancy has been reshaping me from my core (and we’re just getting started 🙃)

The old version gone, the new one not yet formed, in the unknown of who I’ll become…

All I can do here is release control, trust. Surrender my life to something beyond myself…

But Holy WOW, the intensity as the emotional, energetic, mental, physical body recalibrates to tend to the little Spirit blooming within.

It’s not very often talked about, but it’s so real. The tears. The fear. The doubt.

And I hardly remember that part of self now. I’ve shed and changed seventeen times at least in the last five months. But for trust to come through, I had to move through the shadow first.

The amount of maturity and forging that happens, sometimes over night, is truly incredible, so rich, so profound.

And here we are now… in the journey of becoming someone who walks unarmed with the unknown, co-creating life with life.

Feeling simultaneous grievance for an old life, and pure joy for the new one.

To know & miss that nothing will ever be the same and to revel in it all at the same time.

It DEMANDS a masterful ability to hold deep complexity.

I’m so grateful for it.
So humbled and inspired by it.

So much in the allowance of what it takes to Become a Mama 🤍

In awe of womanhood. Of motherhood.

Of these bodies that create, give, sustain.

So here’s to this season, may our fires burn bright ✨
