UW Stevens Point at Wausau Basketball

The team gathered one final time last night to enjoy some food and reflect on the highs and lows of the season. It was also a special evening as we celebrated three conference honors:

🏅Nathan Gorman was named First Team All-Conference!

🏆 Rayshaun Aaron earned Player of the Year!

⭐️Coach Steve LaCerte was recognized as Coach of the Year!

It was a great way to close out a memorable season and celebrate the hard work and dedication of this group!

Unfortunately, your Huskies came up short tonight vs. Blackhawk Tech. Hats off to them, as they played extremely well and earned the win. It's always tough beating a team four times in one season, especially when two of the games came down to last-second shots. This Huskies team gave it their all, and while we faced a lot of adversity all season long, they kept coming back. We started the season with 10 guys and ended the season with the same 10 guys. So, I'm extremely thankful and blessed to have coached these guys. We finished the year 11-7, ended up second in the conference, and were one game away from the championship game. Thank you to all former alumni, coaches, and community members who came out tonight to watch. We appreciate it and are grateful for all the support this season. One last thank you to Coach Bill Gibbs. What a tradition and legacy you created at this school! While this is the end of the Huskies, what you built in this community will never be forgotten. Congratulations on everything you accomplished, and thank you for your lasting impact on so many people!
