A lot happening in the Prairie garden right now. Just because summer is over, doesn’t mean the garden has finished producing.

Please stop by the Community Garden at Prairie and pick a tomato, pepper, cucumber, or some fresh herbs for your dinner.

Or go on a nature hunt to see what else lives in the garden!

As the growing season is winding down, please let us know if you can help by donating any of the following. Make it a WIN-WIN--more garage/storage space for you, less cost for Prairie!

Gently used tomato cages (heavy duty preferred)
Fully/mostly composted to help improve our soil for next growing season
Chicken wire/garden fencing to keep our furry friends out next spring

Help Us Grow a Self-Sustaining Garden at Prairie Elementary School!

At Prairie Elementary School, we believe in the power of hands-on learning and community engagement. We are excited to announce our initiative to create a self-sustaining garden that will serve both our students and their families. This garden will not only provide fresh produce but also foster a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and environmental stewardship among our young learners.

You can support the Prairie Garden:
$5 – says "Thank you for the fresh produce!"
$10 – Buys a bag of compost or soil
$25 – Pays for gardening tools & educational materials
$50 – Refreshes our walkways with crushed gravel and mulch

We're looking for families to help 'Adopt the Prairie Garden' for a week at a time.

Your family will be responsible for watering (weather dependent), weeding, and some harvesting. Watering equipment & small garden tools provided. Please pick up the water key from the Prairie Office 7am-3:30pm on Monday or Tuesday of your assigned week
