Wednesday, May 20, Craig Meech and the Rockets hosted the fantastic Annual Co****le event with their teachers! Everyone was greeted by the official Door Duty squad, complete with walkie talkies. 🤣 The team brought SO many boards and bags to have everyone play and be involved! What a fun, bonding event 💕Thanks to the MANY volunteers and coaches making events like this possible, including Anya Huebsch, Brian Beitz, Sarah Huebsch, Vince Mulhollon, Anne Daley Mulhollon, Salina Nac, Shelly Berklund, Jim Sinsky, and many more!!!

COMMUNITY GIVE BACK:
Food Pantry of Waukesha County 🍱🍏🍋🍇🍒
WTA volunteered to go one day a month during March, April and May to help with any projects. We went through PALLETS of products and used a Sharpie to cover the bar codes. This was super helpful to get the products donated to individuals quickly. The Pantry gets food donations from manufacturers and when items aren’t sold at stores, the bar codes must be covered. Great work crew!

During this work rotation with Adriane Sendzik at the Quad/Graphics Sussex Plant 🪴 we enjoy setting up Boot Camp with Ms Jane, cleaning the Employee Weight Room and working with Ms Mackenzie in the Cafeteria! Along the way, we love saying hi to Ms Lynn at the front desk! Thank you to Mr Jamie Steckl for setting us up with employee badges and making us part of the team! Quad

WTA's own Nathan Meech, Michaela Faulk, Eli Franta and Ms Yahr are in the news! WTA participates every year in a community give back at Prairie Home Cemetery by placing flags on the graves of veterans the week before Memorial Day. Ms Blohm, a former WTA teacher, arranges this opportunity with the local VFW Post. We love volunteering and getting to see former classmates!

Waukesha students help VFW place flags on veterans' graves ahead of Memorial Day A group of students and graduates from Waukesha Transitional Academy is helping the Waukesha VFW carry on a decades-long tradition of placing flags on the graves of veterans ahead of Memorial Day.

Thank you Dady O’s for hosting our WTA group for brunch on Friday the 15th of May. It was super cool to see a former classmate, David! We really enjoyed and appreciate all the kindness that you guys had with our group. The food was excellently delicious and the hospitality was amazing! JOB SPOTLIGHT: School Grounds Coffee Shop ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Our coffee shop is currently run by Joey Mc Dermott, Molly Mulhollon, Wesley Pollmann and David Salgado. Each group of students have learned to be independent coworkers who follow a daily task list. We work with our Baking Buddy group, who makes our bakery and grocery shops for us. We take inventory, make regular and flavored coffee, pink lemonade and sell our bakery and chips to go along with the drinks. Our jobs include greeting customers, selling products, loading/unloading our carts, keeping supplies stocked and keeping our kitchen sparkling clean. ✨If you like coffee and treats, you will love School Grounds!!

Baking Buddies with Ms Mary Ann Proffitt and Friendship Ministries was so much fun! We all teamed up with a volunteer and made a delicious batch of blueberry muffins from scratch. While they baked, we played Bingo for prizes. Then, we packed up our muffins to share later with our families and enjoyed some shopping time in downtown Waukesha. Thank you so much for hosting us!!
