The Carroll Players is the first active student theater organization in Wisconsin, founded in 1896 when professor May Nickell Rankin directed a group of students in a production of Richelieu as part of Commencement weekend activities. The group furthers the artistic, academic and educational concerns of the Theatre Arts program, recognizes outstanding alumni and encourages fellowship and growth among members through social and educational activities.

Missed Auditions for JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (In Concert)? HAVE NO FEAR - the rest of the Carroll Players' 26-27 Season IS HERE!

And finally, huge s/o to our two STUDENT-DIRECTED SENIOR CAPSTONE PROJECTS this year in the Studio Theatre!

SHE KILLS MONSTERS (YA Edition) will be a concert reading presentation with live fights, Nov. 13-14, 2026, directed and fight choreographed by Hunter Birkhoff '27.

The 180TH MUSICAL THEATRE CABARET will be presented Jan. 29-30, 2027, directed by Grace Banwart '27 and Ellie Ertl '27, and will feature an evening of songs from musical theatre productions that have occurred during Carroll's 180-year history (and the Carroll Players' 175-years of history!)
