Former FLL Team 4889

Former FLL Team 4889 Retired 4-H FIRST LEGO League team from Waukesha, WI. We were a 4-H FIRST LEGO League team from Waukesha, WI with different students over 9 years.

Many of us are still in regular contact while participating in FIRST at other levels, such as FRC team members, FRC and FLL mentors, FLL tournament volunteers and judges, and Jr. FLL volunteers and judges. Our team and the FIRST organization are all for inspiration and recognition of science and technology, driven by the gracious professionalism spirit. In our 9-year history, we received top awards in Teamwork, Robot Performance, three Innovative Solution awards, three Inspiration awards, 1st and 2nd place Research, two Champions awards, two Runners up Champions, and yes, even the Gracious Professionalism award. In all things, TEAMwork counts!

Flooding nine years ago in this very same intersection during the Nature's Fury year was the inspiration for T.E.A.M. Flash Drivez #244 innovation solution using LIDAR on vehicles and an alarm system to warn drivers that the road was flooded with 3+ inches of water.

'Tis the time of year when teams are building their field sets. Ahh, such memories.

"Back in the day," the field sets didn't come divided by field elements but rather as loose bags of parts that had to be sorted before building.

Out came pretty much ever bowl in the coach's house to help with sorting!

Former T.E.A.M. members all happened to be at the same community event. They weren't all on the team together or at the same time, but they were all part of T.E.A.M. at some point. Some are now in college, and the rest in high school. Always fun to have a mini-reunion.
