In honor of National Meditation Day, several Mill Creek Academy staff members took a few moments to “ground” ourselves right in the hallway — and our amazing 7th graders decided to join us.

It was such a meaningful reminder that mindfulness doesn’t require perfection or a quiet studio… sometimes it just takes a moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect during a busy school day.

At Mill Creek Academy, we believe student success means supporting both emotional wellness and academic growth. Creating space for mindfulness, self-awareness, and connection helps our students build the tools they need both inside and outside the classroom.

Thank you to our grade 3 families who were able to attend the Poetry Reading Event! Sweet treats, and great rhymes were abound all around! Scholars did an amazing job both with their compositions and presentations!

The second grade Mallards explored the area of composite shapes using different units, including triangles, rhombuses, and trapezoids. They discovered how these three units are connected and that they can all be used to find the area of the same shape in different ways! That mathematically thinking is definitely taking shape! 😉

Ms. O'Brien's 4K class made some adorable taco art, and the excitement from that project continued with a chips and salsa taste test—most of the students gave the salsa a big thumbs up! 🌶️😄

Our students also rotated through different Dragons Love Tacos activities, practicing important skills like 10 frames, sight words, and addition.
