🎓✨ Exploring what’s next!

We loved welcoming 8th-grade students from LEARN 10 North Chicago to Cristo Rey St. Martin last week! 🎓✨

During their visit, students explored campus and learned more about the many academic opportunities, resources, programs, and support systems available at CRSM. Members of our different departments shared a glimpse into what it’s like to be part of the CRSM community, and Campus Ministry even gave students a taste of the retreat experience with a fun activity in the gym!

Thank you to the LEARN 10 students and their High School Placement Counselor, Ms. Luna, for spending the day with us. We hope you enjoyed getting to know CRSM as much as we enjoyed having you!

💻🤖 Techies Day with AbbVie !

Last week, 100 CRSM freshmen and sophomores took part in our annual AbbVie Techies Day, an afternoon filled with career exploration, technology, and hands-on learning.

Students heard from members of AbbVie’s Business Technology Systems team about their career journeys and experiences working in technology, then jumped into interactive AI activities focused on prompt specificity, identifying AI-generated images, and responsible AI use.

We’re so grateful to AbbVie for continuing to create meaningful opportunities for our students to explore emerging technology and imagine where their own futures might lead. 💡

Check out this Chicago Tribune article featuring CRSM at the Fiestas Patrias Parade!

The month and the events that are part of it are an opportunity “to celebrate the cultures, traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latino residents” in the community.

Putting their stories into words ✍️🎓

College application season is here, and our seniors are hard at work writing their college admission essays and personal statements! From brainstorming ideas to polishing final drafts, students are taking time to reflect on their experiences, accomplishments, goals, and the stories that make them who they are.

We’re so lucky to have several amazing volunteers joining us to support our seniors throughout the writing process, providing feedback, encouragement, and a fresh set of eyes along the way. 💻📝

A huge thank you to everyone giving their time to help our students tell their stories and take this exciting next step toward college!

💼📊 Finance was on the menu at today’s Lunch & Learn!

More than 20 CRSM students joined us during lunch to explore careers in finance and hear from two professionals about their experiences in the field.

A special thank you to Viridiana Fajardo, CRSM CFO, Director of Human Resources, and Class of 2010 alumna - and Bryan Beyer, Credit and Collections Analyst II at Hollister Incorporated, for sharing their career journeys, advice, and insight with our students.

Our monthly Lunch & Learns give Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors another opportunity to ask questions, explore career paths, and connect what they are learning today to what may come next.
