Waukegan Public Schools Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 serves approximately 14,000 students in preschool through grade 12.

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves approximately 15,000 students in preschool through grade twelve. The District has 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, and a high school program divided between three buildings. The District also operates preschool programs at several sites. Join us for an evening celebrating the culture, traditions, and contributions of Waukegan’s Hispanic community!

Our annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration is Thursday, October 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Waukegan High School’s Brookside Campus. Enjoy live performances, dance lessons, Lotería, traditional foods, music from DJ Fito, activities for all ages, prizes, and more!

This year’s theme is “Unidos, Somos Más!” (Together, We Are More!) The event is free and open to all District families.

Did you know that this year, the beloved Dog Pound at Waukegan High School turns 100 years old?

One of the most historic and renowned high school gyms in the state of Illinois is getting ready for a BIG birthday celebration on December 9, when our basketball teams host Mundelein for what promises to be the state’s biggest birthday party!

We’re planning a series of events leading up to the Big Day and would love for Bulldogs past and present to get involved in the planning and celebration.
