🎨💚💛 **COLOUR WARS ARE BACK AT MJMS!** 💛💚

Our **first Colour Wars of the school year** was a HUGE success! Green 💚 went head-to-head with Yellow 💛, and our Tiger Scholars brought the energy, teamwork, school spirit, and FUN! 🐯🔥

There were smiles, competition, cheering, and plenty of Tiger Pride all around. **Fun was definitely had by all!** 🙌

A HUGE **THANK YOU** to **Ms. Richards and Mr. Fisher** for organizing this awesome activity, and to **Ms. Lisa** for her brilliant organization skills and for making PBIS such a success! 💚💛👏

MJMS won the District Attendance Belt for the best attendance—with an incredible 96%! 🎉

🌸🔬 SCIENCE IN ACTION! 🔬🌸

Mrs. Torres’ scholars took learning into their own hands today as they dissected flowers to explore the different parts involved in plant reproduction! 🌺🧪

Our Tiger Scholars looked closely, asked questions, made observations, and connected what they have been learning in class to something they could actually see, touch, and explore.

Hands-on learning like this is what makes science come alive—and judging by the curiosity in the room, these scholars were definitely locked in! 🐯💙

Way to go, Mrs. Torres and scholars! Learning by doing, one flower at a time! 🌼

HUGE TIGER PRIDE SHOUTOUT!

We are incredibly excited to celebrate Dr. Cynthia Stockman, who has been nominated for the AMLE Educator of the Year Award!

This prestigious recognition from the Association for Middle Level Education honors outstanding educators who make a significant impact on the lives of young adolescents through exemplary practice, leadership, vision, and advocacy.

Dr. Stockman’s passion for middle level education, commitment to our Tiger Scholars, dedication to building strong relationships, and continued advocacy for students make this nomination especially meaningful.

At MJMS, we know how much heart, energy, and dedication Dr. Stockman brings to our scholars and school community each and every day, and we are so proud to see that work recognized on a larger stage!

🐾💙 What an exciting opening day for our revamped PAWS Store! 💙🐾

A huge THANK YOU to Ms. Lisa and Ms. Richards for completely revamping our PAWS Store! The brand-new store is chock-full of so many fun items for our Tiger Scholars to choose from! 🛍️🐯

Our scholars had a blast shopping today using the PAWS they earn by demonstrating our TIGER values:

⭐ Empathy
⭐ Respect

The halls were buzzing with excitement before and after today’s grand opening! We also want to thank all of our amazing volunteers who helped our scholars shop and made the day run smoothly. 💙

Ms. Romito’s 7th Grade Advanced Math Scholars were getting hands-on with geometry! 📐🔵 Students carefully divided circles into fourths, eighths, and sixteenths, then worked in pairs and groups to rearrange the pieces and see if they could create a parallelogram.

This engaging activity challenged scholars to visualize how shapes can be transformed while connecting their hands-on work to important mathematical concepts like area, fractions, and geometric relationships. Our Tigers were collaborating, problem-solving, and thinking like mathematicians! 🐯➗📊

🐯💙 Trying Something New in AVID! 💙🐯

Dr. Stockman’s 7th grade AVID scholars enjoyed trying something new today — Focused Silence! Scholars had dedicated time to slow down, block out distractions, and focus deeply on their work and thinking.

The best part? When it was over, they asked if we could do it once a week! 🙌

In a world full of constant distractions, learning how to sit, think, focus, and work independently is an important skill. We may have just found a new AVID weekly tradition! 📚🧠✨

Stronger Connections has been part of our school community since 2024, and our students have always been the heart of it.

A few days ago, Mrs. Torres asked former scholars if any of them would come to Curriculum Night to support the program. Today, after their high school classes, so many of them showed up to talk to families, share their experiences, and help us.

This is what Stronger Connections is truly about: building a community that stays with you, growing together, and creating connections that continue long after students leave your classroom.
