UPCOMING 2026 HBCU TOUR INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS.

The informational meetings for the upcoming 2026 HBCU Tour are about to kick off! All sessions will take place on Tuesdays and will be held at the Patricia A. Jones Center, located at 414 S. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.

**Attendance at all meeting dates is mandatory!**

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to share some important changes to our transportation services for PreK–8th grade students who ride yellow school buses. Our Transportation Department has transitioned to a new routing and scheduling software, Transfinder, which may result in new route numbers or bus stop locations for your child.

Families will receive updated route information the week of August 4. Additionally, we're introducing a new GPS tracking tool called StopFinder, which will replace the MyStop app and provide real-time updates on your child’s bus. StopFinder will be available in September, and we’ll share full instructions soon.

We appreciate your patience as we roll out these improvements and look forward to a smoother, more efficient transportation experience this year!

If your student’s medical records are out of date, we’re offering on-site vaccines during orientation for high school students who are uninsured or on Medicaid.

BC Campus: July 30 (Freshmen & Sophomores), WC Campus: July 31 (Juniors & Seniors), 8–11AM & 12–3PM.

Medicaid students must bring their card; uninsured students bring $15 per vaccine. A guardian must be present.

What an incredible day! We are so grateful to our entire community for showing up and showing out. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing volunteers, dedicated staff, and wonderful families who made this year’s event a huge success.

Special shoutout to our phenomenal FACE team you continue to go above and beyond, and none of this would be possible without you. Each year this event grows bigger and better, and it’s all because of the passion, collaboration, and love you pour into it.

The first day of school is Monday, August 11, and families of returning students who still need to register or provide proof of residency are invited to attend one of our Back-to-School Registration events happening July 29 through July 31, from 1 to 7 p.m. at various locations across the city.

You can attend any event, regardless of which school your child attends. Please remember that proof of residency is required for students entering grades 6 and 9.

New to the district? You can begin the registration process in person at any of these events or by making an appointment with our Student Support Services.

📣 Update: We did it, Waukegan! Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we finished packing ALL the backpacks in just two days! 🎒✨

There is no need for volunteers on July 9 – we’re all set for the Back to School Resource Fair on Saturday, July 26th!🙌💚

Don't forget! Next week- Monday-Wednesday we are hosting our Pack n' Prep at WHS Brookside campus to gear up for our Back to School Resource Fair. Come help us pack the backpacks and also earn some volunteer credit!
