At last night’s Board of Education meeting, the District was authorized to begin exploring the sale of the Welcome Center at 742 Greenwood Avenue.

With the opening of our new Educational Services Center downtown, the building is now mostly vacant. Remaining staff will be relocated to other District sites soon. Selling the property will help us reduce costs and focus more resources on student support. This change will not impact any student services.

More updates will be shared as the process moves forward.

Guest Principal Day is almost here! This Thursday, we will welcome several community impact leaders as guest principals for our Annual Guest Principal Day! These amazing leaders from local nonprofits and social service agencies will get a behind-the-scenes look at our schools, meet students and staff, and experience the incredible things happening every day. We'd like to remind our families that tomorrow, December 9 is a District Institute Day, and there will be no classes for students. Classes will resume Tuesday, December 10.

Our District will host a free meal distribution event on Saturday, December 21 at the Waukegan High School-Brookside Campus. Meals will be available between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Families can pick up food by driving up to door 29, which is located at the back of the Brookside Campus. Families will be asked to stay in their cars, and students are not required to be present to pick up meals.

Students will receive a 10-day meal pack that will include breakfast and lunch, as well as fruit and snacks. Meals will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis, so families are encouraged to arrive early in the day to ensure they receive meals.
