On Tuesday we welcomed New to SMS students. Student ambassadors answered questions and helped students find their classes.

On Thursday we welcomed students to our SMS Open House. Students were able to meet their teachers and find their classes.

Fall 2026 Community Education registration is now open! Camps and courses available to middle schoolers include:

- Start Smart with Study Skills
- Fencing
- Flag Football
- Attitude Advantage Workshop
- ACT/SAT Bootcamp (Grade 8)
- ACT/SAT Diagnostic Day (Grade 8)

All these courses are held at South Middle School, Waukee Middle School, or Prairieview.

We also offer online courses, such as:

- Video Game Design
- Animation Studio

Some traditions never go out of style... Student registration looked a little different at Waukee CSD in 1961, but getting ready for the new school year still starts with returning student enrollment! If you haven't already, please complete your 2026-27 enrollment.

Every returning student must re-enroll each year so we have the most accurate and up-to-date information on file. The student's primary contact should have received an email from PowerSchool Enrollment with a link to complete the process.

Need help? Stop by the District Office to re-enroll in person or call 515-987-5161.
