Here's one of the new friendly faces you'll see this school year in our music rooms!

Mr. Nevi Zerkle will serve as a 5th grade band director. A native Iowan, conductor, and trombonist, Mr. Zerkle enjoys running, exploring the outdoors, and cozying up for a good ghost story when not in the classroom or making music.

Thank you to all of the families who joined us for our Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Night!

We loved welcoming our newest Sugar Creek students and reconnecting with many of our returning TK families. It was a wonderful evening filled with excitement, helpful information, and the beginning of new friendships as we prepare for an amazing school year together.

Important upcoming dates:
• August 14: Classroom assignments will be available in PowerSchool, and teachers will begin reaching out to families.
• August 20, 4:00–6:00 p.m.: Open House
• August 24: First day of school! Please note that the first two days of Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten are shortened days from 9:50 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.

A heartfelt thank you to our administrators, teachers, counselors, nurse, office staff, PTO, Beyond the Bell team, and all of the other Sugar Creek staff members who helped make the evening such a success. We are so grateful for everyone who helped our newest families feel welcomed and supported.

We can't wait to welcome our Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students, along with their families, for a fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun at Sugar Creek. Here's to a wonderful school year ahead! 🍎🤩💜

Mrs. Lizzy Wilson is ready to make a difference as our newest reading lab teacher!

"I’m excited to join Sugar Creek and work alongside such a supportive team while helping students build confidence and a love for reading!"

Outside of school, Mrs. Wilson enjoys spending time with family, crafting, shopping, cheering for the Hawkeyes, and, of course, reading a good book! 📖
