🤖 STEM at FCA: Building, Coding & Creating! 🚀

Our Eagles are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to work! 💡 From kindergarteners preparing to program robot mice to middle schoolers exploring 3D design, robotics, and video game development, every grade is taking on new challenges and learning through hands-on discovery.

We’re growing the next generation of thinkers, creators, and innovators—one project at a time! 🦅

🔬 7th Grade Science: Making Connections Through Cells! 🧫

How is a cell like a community? Our 7th graders put their thinking skills to work as they explored the roles of different cell organelles and connected them to familiar places and systems in everyday life.

From managing resources to keeping everything running smoothly, students saw how each part has a unique purpose and how they all work together to keep a cell alive and functioning! 🧠✨

We love seeing our Eagles make meaningful connections and bring science to life! 🦅

📚 Our Eagles are back in the library and loving the updates!

Our Frassati Forward Committee has been working behind the scenes to refresh our library, and our students are already enjoying the changes.

This is just Phase One, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. A big thank-you to everyone helping make our library an even better space for our students to learn and grow! ❤️💛🩶

Take a peek at our 4th graders and PK students as they enjoy reading and looking at books!

🌮🚚 ¡Qué creativo! Middle School Spanish at FCA! 🇲🇽🇪🇸

Our middle school Spanish students have been putting their creativity and language skills to work by designing their own food truck displays and menus inspired by a Hispanic country.

Students researched traditional foods from their chosen country, created colorful food truck designs and menus, and presented their projects to their classmates. What a fun way to explore Hispanic culture while learning about food, traditions, and the Spanish language!

From Professora Diaz: “I’m so proud of my students and all the creativity, effort, and excitement they’ve put into their work. They are doing an amazing job!” 🥰👏✨

¡Buen trabajo, Eagles! 🦅❤️💛

🍎🥧 A little apple-themed learning in second grade: Our students practiced their how-to writing and then put those skills to the test by making their very own apple pies in a cup! ❤️

Learning is even sweeter when you can taste your hard work! 😉 🍎 ✨

🦅❤️💛 CALLING ALL PAST FCA STUDENTS & FAMILIES! 💛❤️🦅

We recently discovered this beautifully carved wooden mural in the basement of FCA, and we need your help solving a little school history mystery! 🔎

The piece features a silhouette of Pier Giorgio Frassati, a cross, and the inspiring message:

✨ “When God is with us, we don’t have to be afraid of anything.” ✨

But we have so many questions! Who created this incredible piece? When was it made? Where did it originally hang? And what is the story behind it?

We know our FCA family holds generations of memories, and we’re hoping someone might recognize this artwork or remember its history.

Do you know the story behind this mural? Drop a comment below and help us uncover this special piece of FCA history. Please share to help us reach former students, families, and staff! 🦅

🧊 Exploring Glacial Erosion! 🧊

Throwback to our 4th and 6th graders heading to the lcfpd Lake County Forest Preserves to learn how glaciers shaped the landscape of Lake County. Students used soil probes, collected data, and explored how erosion and deposition continue to change our environment today. 🌎🔬

A big thank you to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Biodiversity Grant for helping make this hands-on learning experience possible! 🦅
