💚 National 4-H Week | Day 4: Thankful Thursday! 💚

We couldn’t let Thankful Thursday pass without giving a HUGE thank-you to the incredible volunteers, donors, parents, and supporters who help make the Hardee County 4-H Program possible! 🍀

Your time, talents, encouragement, and generosity make a lasting difference in the lives of our 4-H members. Thank you for investing in our youth, supporting our programs, and helping us “Make the Best Better!” 💚

💚🍀 National 4-H Week — Go Green Day! 🍀💚

Yesterday kicked off National 4-H Week, and we celebrated with Go Green Day! 💚 We are so thankful for everyone in our community who helped us show their support for 4-H!

A HUGE thank you to the Hardee County BOCC for lighting up the courthouse green and placing signs and banners in front of the courthouse! It was amazing to see our courthouse glowing green in support of 4-H! 💚🏛️

A special thank you to our amazing leader, Christy, for taking these beautiful pictures of the courthouse lit up green! 📸💚

We also want to thank Sheriff’s Office employees Col. Roberts, Captain Drake, and Lt. Andrews, along with our Firefighter/Paramedic Aaron, for participating in Go Green Day in their own special ways! 💚👮‍♂️🚒

We would also like to give a BIG thank you to all of our 4-H leaders and members who wore green yesterday to show their support and help us celebrate Go Green Day! 💚🍀 We love seeing everyone getting involved and showing their 4-H spirit!

We absolutely LOVE seeing the support from our community! It means so much to our 4-H youth to see our community come together and celebrate the amazing things 4-H brings to Hardee County. 💚

💚 In Honor of National 4-H Week! 💚

Yesterday, Hardee County 4-H County Council Member Raelee Deemer had the honor of presenting the 4-H National Week Proclamation to the Hardee County Board of County Commissioners. The proclamation was passed, officially declaring October 4th–10th as National 4-H Week in Hardee County! 🎉

The commissioners shared their appreciation for Raelee bringing the proclamation before the board and reflected on their own experiences in 4-H during their youth. It was especially exciting to see Raelee proudly representing 4-H in her green 4-H jacket — and for some commissioners, it was their first time seeing a 4-H jacket in person! 💚

This presentation was made even more meaningful because of the special jacket Raelee wore. She wore a jacket created in honor and memory of Dr. Barbara Carlton.

Dr. Carlton was a tremendous supporter in the 4-H & FFA community. You could always find her under the barn — rain or shine, hot or freezing — supporting our youth and exhibitors.

In her honor, two 4-H jackets have been created and are being held at the Hardee County Extension Office for youth who may need to borrow a jacket during Fair Week. The jackets are Youth Small.

We are so grateful for Dr. Carlton's lasting impact on our 4-H community and are honored to carry her memory forward by helping ensure our youth have the opportunity to proudly represent 4-H. 💚🍀
