Enemy Swim Day School

Enemy Swim Day School ESDS is located in the Glacial Lakes region in Northeast South Dakota, six miles north of Waubay on Serving general and community education.

Established in 1938 and built by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. In the 1960's and 70's, ESDS provided education services in cooperation with Waubay Public School. In 1983 began the transition from the 638 Grant School to a P.L. 100-297 Contract School. Presently, ESDS is chartered by the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate and operated by a local School Board. In December 2005, under the direction of Dr. Sherr

y Johnson, ESDS moved to its new home north of the SWO Buffalo Farm and south of the orignal ESDS school house. Enemy Swim Day School added a full service child develpment center in 2007 to meet the child care needs of families in the area. ESDS Contnutes to offer quality education in the Glacial Lakes Region!

Good afternoon! Families that are coming for Open House today may use the main drive way to our school. Please do not drive in the circular drive. Everyone should park on the west side of the school where the new expansion is. Use the expansion doors to enter the school. Meal is ready and staff are excited to see you! Hope to see you soon!

A reminder that tomorrow is our Open House from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm! Also, there is No OST tomorrow so all students will ride the 3:20 bus home after school. (Contact Carolyn with any bus orders.) And an update to our school calendar...NO SCHOOL FRIDAY. It will be a staff work day.

Due to ongoing construction on our main road, our buses will be dropping off and picking up students at an alternate area. (Shown in Red on the map.) Buses will drop at the corner by the park. The sidewalk to the school will be monitored by staff. There will be no late runs during this time. If you need to drop off or pick up your student at another time during school hours, please call ahead to Carolyn and she will bring your student to the drop off point. Thank for your patience during this time!
