Tragedy has struck Bradley’s Library…….
Our beloved Bradley Library has struggled for the last few years. First, in January 2020, the library had black mold and was abated. During this time the library was packed into boxes moved on to the stage in the Multipurpose room. Once the green light was given that the library was safe, we started to move boxes back in. Within a week of moving boxes back to the library, we had a terrible rain storm. On October 25th the library flooded due poor maintenance of the roof. We lost about 90% of our library’s inventory--thousands of books. The School District is going to be replacing the books, but we need a place to house them. Our students have not had a fully functioning library for almost 3 years now. Our kids deserve functioning library. Currently, the make-shift library cannot operate during lunch, rainy days, and assemblies. How many more years do our kids need to go without a library? We need a new library and a temporary home where our library can be fully functioning. Please email or call our Superintendents, School Board, County Supervisors and Mayor. Let them know our children deserve better.

*The books in the picture are all books destroyed by either water damage or mold. This is an epic loss to our library, school, and students.

Due to the tragedy at Aptos High School last week there is a Special Board Meeting scheduled for September 15th at 6pm to discuss the presence of SROs within PVUSD.

The Board meeting will take place in the District Office Boardroom begin at 6pm. If you want your voice to be heard here is how.

UPDATE: 5:45pm Lockdown has been lifted. These are the methods for picking up your child:

If your child regularly rides the bus, they can be picked up at the Cabrillo College Sheriff’s Office substation by the Cabrillo softball field.

If your child rides their bike home, they are being released to ride their bike unless other plans have been made with their parents or guardians.

If you are planning to pick your child up at Aptos High school, pick up is at the football field.

The two subjects that were detained are speaking with investigators.

UPDATE: 4:00pm Two individuals have been detained, deputies are still investigating if they were involved. The school is still on lockdown.

PREVIOUS: At 2:20PM deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at Aptos High. A student was stabbed and this is believed to be an isolated incident.

The campus is currently on lockdown and deputies are actively searching the campus for the suspect. We will continue to update this post with additional information.

Parents can stage at the Sheriff’s Office service center at Cabrillo College next to the Softball field.

A student was stabbed at Aptos HS today. Kids are currently in lock down with 10 cop cars & ambulance onsite while they searching for the 🤬kid that did this! It’s time to have metal detectors that the kids must go through before school! THIS NEEDS TO STOP!

👎This cannot be happening in our district/community. Be present & keep eyes & ears open. It takes a village to keep our kids safe!

Tonight deputies investigated a potential threat to Aptos Junior High School after concerning comments were overheard on campus.

The individual who made the comments has been spoken with and deputies have found the threat to be unfounded.

There will be extra patrol deputies tomorrow morning as students arrive on campus.

Bradley Elementary School recently had some sports equipment stolen from campus.

Deputy Gonzalez worked with the Santa Cruz County Deputy Sheriff’s Association to get the money to cover new sports equipment for the school.

Now that PVUSD is bringing them back, there is no reason for them to be going for 90 minutes every day.... totaling 6 hours a week, when they could currently be in school for 6 hours a day. Now that in person has started my son wants to go back more often than 2x a week for 90 minutes. Some district are back half days. Wish we had that option.
