Welcome to Wish Upon A Star’s 2024 Summer Camp! We're truly excited for a fun filled summer! Below, we've listed information to help things go smoothly for both you and your camper this year. Summer Camp will be held at our newly purchased and renovated space at 630 Lincoln Street in Milton. This was formerly a Seventh Day Adventist Church, now home to Wish Upon A Star’s 2024 Summer Camp Program and future Milton based Wish Upon A Star Preschool and Before and After school program.
All Drop offs and pickups will be here at the new site. We will use the back, basement entry. When dropping your child off for the day or picking them up, please either utilize the off street parking to the side of the church building or park at the back of the building, where we should have plenty of space for up to 10 vehicles to park at a time. The empty lot next to the church is part of the property.
We'll be using Brightwheel to Sign in and Out each Day, so be sure to have your phone with you at drop off and pick up. To get started with a Brightwheel account, use the link provided in the invitation that was sent to your phone. If you did not receive and invitation to Brightwheel, please let us know by sending a text to Jamie (570) 713-8647 including Your Name, Your child's Name and birthday, and the phone Number that you want associated with your parent account. Then, we can get you started. You will sign into your account on your phone and check in or out by using the QR Code that we'll have at the facility. Each parent account has a 4 digit code associated with your child. Once the QR is scanned, you will be prompted to enter that 4 digit code. You have the ability to edit and change the code on your account, if you want to customize the numbers to something you're more likely to remember! We would like to have everyone set up and using Brightwheel right away. This will be our main way of communication for both Daily information and Billing.
A typical day of Summer Camp will look like:
6:30-7:45: Arrivals and free play inside
7:45-8:45: Breakfast will be offered, and campers will have free play at the facility.
8:45-9:00: Bathroom breaks and Preparing for the day’s field trip and activities, gathering supplies, and getting the bus packed for the trip!
9:00-9:30: Leave for scheduled field trip. Each day this “leave time” will vary based on the trip that is planned. If a trip is a further distance, we may leave sooner than 9am. For shorter distances, we may stay at the facility for a longer time, utilizing both inside and outside activity or the park within walking distance.
10:30: We will offer snacks around this time each day.
12:30: Lunch Time! Lunches will be outside and picnic style, usually in a pavilion.
3-3:30: Arrival back to our Milton location.
3:30-400: Afternoon relaxation and quiet indoor activity time and bathroom breaks.
4:00-5:30: Afternoon activities until parent pick up.
What to Bring:
Change of clothes , and a Beach Towel (it is always beneficial to have an available towel!)
A Packed lunch that does not need refrigerated or heated
A Water bottle that is insulated to keep drinks as fresh as possible
We'll provide Sunscreen but if you have a preferred brand, be sure to pack it
Always check the Calendar to make sure your camper is prepared for the day's activities, (proper shoes, socks on roller skating days, snack money for the pool or roller skating, change of clothes after water play, etc)
Electronics and Phones: We HIGHLY discourage electronics and phones for 3 reasons
1. We want our Summer Campers to enjoy what life has to offer without the screen, and to experience nature and friendships and adventure without depending on devices!
If we allow electronics time during a day at Summer Camp, it would be VERY limited, most likely only during our “quiet time” in the afternoons after returning from a trip. If this time would be abused or become too challenging to manage with campers, we will simply not allow any electronics. We'll have plenty of things available to keep a camper from being “bored!”
2. Bringing a phone or Electronic is always “at your own Risk” We do not want to take any responsibility for broken or damaged items.
3. Personal Privacy Issues: We do not want photos and recordings being shared on social media that would hinder privacy issues for
