Welcome to Wish Upon A Star’s 2024 Summer Camp! We're truly excited for a fun filled summer! Below, we've listed information to help things go smoothly for both you and your camper this year. Summer Camp will be held at our newly purchased and renovated space at 630 Lincoln Street in Milton. This was formerly a Seventh Day Adventist Church, now home to Wish Upon A Star’s 2024 Summer Camp Program and future Milton based Wish Upon A Star Preschool and Before and After school program.

All Drop offs and pickups will be here at the new site. We will use the back, basement entry. When dropping your child off for the day or picking them up, please either utilize the off street parking to the side of the church building or park at the back of the building, where we should have plenty of space for up to 10 vehicles to park at a time. The empty lot next to the church is part of the property.

We'll be using Brightwheel to Sign in and Out each Day, so be sure to have your phone with you at drop off and pick up. To get started with a Brightwheel account, use the link provided in the invitation that was sent to your phone. If you did not receive and invitation to Brightwheel, please let us know by sending a text to Jamie (570) 713-8647 including Your Name, Your child's Name and birthday, and the phone Number that you want associated with your parent account. Then, we can get you started. You will sign into your account on your phone and check in or out by using the QR Code that we'll have at the facility. Each parent account has a 4 digit code associated with your child. Once the QR is scanned, you will be prompted to enter that 4 digit code. You have the ability to edit and change the code on your account, if you want to customize the numbers to something you're more likely to remember! We would like to have everyone set up and using Brightwheel right away. This will be our main way of communication for both Daily information and Billing.

A typical day of Summer Camp will look like:

6:30-7:45: Arrivals and free play inside

7:45-8:45: Breakfast will be offered, and campers will have free play at the facility.

8:45-9:00: Bathroom breaks and Preparing for the day’s field trip and activities, gathering supplies, and getting the bus packed for the trip!

9:00-9:30: Leave for scheduled field trip. Each day this “leave time” will vary based on the trip that is planned. If a trip is a further distance, we may leave sooner than 9am. For shorter distances, we may stay at the facility for a longer time, utilizing both inside and outside activity or the park within walking distance.

10:30: We will offer snacks around this time each day.

12:30: Lunch Time! Lunches will be outside and picnic style, usually in a pavilion.

3-3:30: Arrival back to our Milton location.

3:30-400: Afternoon relaxation and quiet indoor activity time and bathroom breaks.

4:00-5:30: Afternoon activities until parent pick up.

What to Bring:

Change of clothes , and a Beach Towel (it is always beneficial to have an available towel!)

A Packed lunch that does not need refrigerated or heated

A Water bottle that is insulated to keep drinks as fresh as possible

We'll provide Sunscreen but if you have a preferred brand, be sure to pack it

Always check the Calendar to make sure your camper is prepared for the day's activities, (proper shoes, socks on roller skating days, snack money for the pool or roller skating, change of clothes after water play, etc)

Electronics and Phones: We HIGHLY discourage electronics and phones for 3 reasons

1. We want our Summer Campers to enjoy what life has to offer without the screen, and to experience nature and friendships and adventure without depending on devices!

If we allow electronics time during a day at Summer Camp, it would be VERY limited, most likely only during our “quiet time” in the afternoons after returning from a trip. If this time would be abused or become too challenging to manage with campers, we will simply not allow any electronics. We'll have plenty of things available to keep a camper from being “bored!”

2. Bringing a phone or Electronic is always “at your own Risk” We do not want to take any responsibility for broken or damaged items.

3. Personal Privacy Issues: We do not want photos and recordings being shared on social media that would hinder privacy issues for

*ATTENTION WISH FAMILIES*

Here is information on our summer program in case you or someone you know is looking for summer care. It will be held at our new facility in Milton. It's about a 6 minute drive from Wish. If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.

The only foreseeable change that may be made is the drop off at Wish before 8am. We may eb able to have everyone just drop off right at the Milton location which is our goal. If that does change I'll be letting everyone who is signed up know!

Also, to reserve a spot we will need completed paperwork, which can be emailed to you or picked up at Wish, and a 1 weeks deposit. The deposit will pay for the last week of care. The camp will be 11 weeks from June 3rd - August 16th. If care is needed after that it will be on a "as needed" basis

Hi Wish Families. If you currently have a schoolaged student that attends our after school program at the highschool, please send a text to my cell phone upon pick up. The "remind me app" is no longer working as intended.

We will either redo the "remind app" or come up with a different approach until we can get back outside consistently.

I apologize for the inconvenience and we will keep you updated on anything new!

*ATTENTION WISH SUMMER CAMP FAMILIES*

I just wanted to touch base with everyone before we start our summer camp this week. I apologize for being a little late in updating everyone, but there were a lot of things "up in the air" for this year's summer camp until recently. Since the Warrior Run school district wouldn't allow us to use the school we had to find another location and I honestly wasn't sure we were going to find one. Thankfully the 7th day Adventist Church on 8th street in Watsontown was gracious enough to let us use their newly acquired building!

The Church facility is much nicer than gym/cafeteria at Turbotville was, so I know your children will enjoy their time there much more! The Church facility is bigger, cleaner and cooler ...yes it has a/c, so we won't roast any longer!

The last thing I want to make you aware of is that there have been new rules/regulations for driving the bus and of course those things never make things easier and I was just made aware of them recently. So, Andrew and I have begun that process of obtaining the new licenses to make us legal. I'm telling you this because #1 we know anything that involves the state doesn't always go quickly or smooth and #2 we may have to rearrange some of our trips early on here and do some more days "on-site" until everything is complete. Again, I was a little more concerned about this when we were still thinking we'd be at the school, because of the inside conditions, but now that we are at the church, I'm not worried aboutt his at all.

We have a full court gym inside as well as a completely seperate large crafts and game room with ping pong tables (everything inside is air conditioned), and tons of outdoor space!

If anyone has any questions just let me know!

Anyone on here hear anything about Turbotville Elementary being sold!?

*ATTENTION SCHOOL AGE FAMILES*

If you are needing care tomorrow for your schoolaged child, please check with me first for availability. DO NOT just drop your child off assuming we can take them without checking with me first. I know this has been covered multiple times with everyone who attends. It's obviously not because we don't want your child, but we are limited to how many children we can have at that facility in more ways than one, so I have to make sure we're good to go. So again feel free to contact me tomorrow to check. I will not know until then. Thank you and drive safely tomorrow!

*REMINDER*

Parents who attend before and/or after school care. We will NOT be able to give care to any schoolagers tomorrow, Monday Novemer 28th!

*ATTENTION WISHFAMILIES*

We have begun putting stuff out on tables at the Preschool for FREE for anyone who sees something they could use.

With the Watsontown yard sales coming up, I wanted to invite anyone who has things they likely won't use anymore or is just taking up space to bring anything to bring it out and you can either place the items on the table or bring them in a box/container and let me know and I'll put it out. I just want to make clear however, that anything being put out at the Preschool will be FREE for anyone who comes and finds something they could use, so no sales involved. I've had a few people suggest putting out a "donation" box if desired. I haven't made a decision on that yet, but if that does happen, all the money "donated" would be used for a staff party or luncheon, we would not keep it for any person gain!

Our goal is to see a massive multi-family (like 80+ familes) free area set up every year during the yard sales that the community would look forward to every year. Heck you can even tell your family and friends, they don't have to attend our facility.

Basically any items welcome....clothes, toys, whatever. Those items that are left over will be donated, we'd like to see nothing go to waste or be thrown away!

Any questions just let me know!

Thanks

Hey everyone, Ryker is up for athlete of the week for all stars, so I figured I'd throw it out there if anyone would like to go vote for him. The link is below. The alternate person I believe is a warrior run girl, but not sure, so if you know her I won't hold it against you if you don't vote for Ryker...lol
